The man of the series will come from Freddie or Warne, it's as simple as that.

warne dominated with the ball and gone pretty well with the bat
Freddy dominated with the bat and gone pretty well with the ball
we are only in this series because of warne's bowling.
28 wickets at 21 in 4 tests is a pretty dominant effort, given the lack lustre form of everyone else except McGrath.
the McGrath injury = decided the test series.

Warne after 5th Test figures of 12/152 :p
Simon Jones would be a chance if he were playing at the Oval, but Freddie DOES have the lead....
Warne for the Aussies- aint no one even close to him
Wins the match this week, he will silence the nay sayers about his personal life and the diet pill

It will come down to who performs better in this match but it has to be between Warne and Flintoff. No-one else come close to having the impact on this series of these 2 guys.
no one has really dominated and taken the series by the short and curlies.
flintoff would be the front runner at the moment and if england secure the ashes i can't see any other englishman beating him. flintoff won man of the match in the 2 tests that they won.
warnie isn't far behind with bags of 6, 10, 4 and 8 wickets, without a man of the match. had the aussies snuck over the line in the 2nd test warnie would've been named man of the match.
mcgrath and ponting may be outside chances with a nothing short of brilliant performance in the final test. and yes mcgrath has only played 2 tests but did get man of the match at lords and with a 10 wicket haul could be an outside chance.

Warne has batted well too.
If he takes about 8 for this match , and Flintoff doesn't have a cracker, he should get it.
However, if England win the ashes everyone will get carried away and give it to Freddie no matter what.
it should be decided on who has the better 5th test.
Vaughn won it last series in a losing side.

I think it would be fitting for a series like this to give it to both
Funny man, Billy kept the Aussies in the tests he did

Try not to be a tool if you can be honest.

See, thats the funny thing about you lot, you cant tell the difference between the umpires
Aussie Billy hasnt umpired the last 2 tests when the Aussie whingeing has hit an all time high, the last time he umpired he nearly got Australia over the line because he never wanted to give an Aussie out LBW

Get your hand of it Eddie, Billy's bad decisions (AND NON DECISIONS) this test series is 7-2 in favour of England, even Boycott agreed to that. It's statements like that that prove you are a one eyed pommy git. Maybee you are inbred and insane too like your monarchy.

Umm...its our monarchy too... :o
It wouldn't surprise me if they gave "equal" player of the series awards to freddie and warny.
well it won't surprise me if they give it to flintoff or jointly to flintoff and warne, as not like in australia, some countries don't have the balls to nominate the one player of the series even when there are more than one contender. therefore i think flintoff will get it regardless because everyone over there will be wanting it to go to him.
but 34 wickets with another 10 up for grabs for warnie cannot be overlooked.

not my monarchy, sooner they sack the bitch and put a self serving australian instead of a self serving brit bitch the better.

Warney has been the best player in the series easily I reckon. About 13 wickets more than the next best player, plus his efforts with the bat. If Australia was leading the series, no one would even be considering Flintoff but because England are leading, there's almost an unwritten rule that man of the series should go to a player from the winning team (Vaughn in last Ashes series notwithstanding).
England lead 2-1 because of consistent efforts from all their players, with Flintoff clearly the best.
Australia still in the hunt purely because of the efforts of one man - Shane Warne.
