Apparently Tony Shaw has a done a deal with his mates Gubby and Lethal to get Brayden to Brisbane (possibly in a trade for Beau McDonald.)

I thought he wants to stay in Brisbane but is only 50/50 for a spot on the list next year...

You do realise that you can't trade a delisted player right?

wouldn't surprise me if he was delisted considering he hasnt been able to get onto the park for 2-3 years

As long as that player was on your list last year, if they want to get to their club of choice then a trade needs to be made. Otherwise they must try their luck in the PSD.

The answer to that would be yes and no.

You are correct that a club cant trade a delisted player, however the player list is only lodged with the AFL after trade week is completed, it is should be noted that players who are to be delisted are only notified to the afl at this point in time.

Therefore even though a player is told he will be delisted this year officially he is not delisted until after trade week. That being the case if you can trade that player you can.

I spoke with someone in the Lions management and they don't believe he is a long term propect because of injuries and I think other clubs know this as well. Hence he is unlikely to be traded. Most likely he will stay at Brisbane until he breaks down for good.

McDonald's currently training with the local AFLQ club Morningside but nothing has been officially said if the Lions want to keep him.

I'd heard that he had already signed a one year incentive-based contract, but a few media reports in the past few days have contradicted that.

Agree that with his injury it's a risky proposition to pick him up. Less so for us as we've invested two years trying to get him right. It's be like buying a broken down Jaguar (or whatever car you fancy), fixing it up and sell it for a song the moment it's finished.

I'm sure a Swans and Magpies people around here remember the name Simon Hawking.
