I think he may have tightened up in the shoulder after the 4th wicket, but he clearly deserved his nomination as one of the 5 most important players of the 20th century.

I am pretty sure given what he has done since 2000 he'll be certainly considered amongst the most influential of the 21st century too.

With McGraths injuries you've got to consider whether the rest of Australia can give him enough support to retain the ashes.

It seemed if will and determination were enough, we'd be 4 zip up.

The man never seems knows the meaning of Surrender.

No wonder the chicks can't resist him

I think what ever someone with that sort of force of personality attempts to do he will do it.

McGrath is a great bowler too, possibly more effective than Warne through the length of his career, but Warne has such an impact on the game.

I love sitting up close to the TV watching every over of Warne, watching the ball duck, weave spin.

cricket will pale when the great man eventually gives it away, which I suspect will be more to do with shoulder injuries than determination.

Warne may be a moron off the field, and a dispicable person of character, but watching him bowl is a true pleasure.

Right on, Dan- I love his mannerisms as he gets ready to bowl, flicking the ball back and forth....licking the fingers....he really is a maestro with the red pill.

Now wait for the people to rubbish him on character, bets and drugs...still a true master- and Australia owes a large part of their dominance in the past decade to Shane Keith Warne

If England win the series then Flintoff should win it, but if Aussies win then Warne deserves it the most :)

i agree with most of what you said, but man of the series for Australia only, overall i think Flintoff might hack it, althgouh i will continue barracking for Warne to get it. Absolute bowling genius.

I reckon the Fat Man is definitely in front after yesterday. But there is plenty time for Freddie to come back.

freddie may be the best player for the britz, but the britz (it burns it burns) have had a far more even bowling attack with doggard, Jones, Freddie and harmless all bowling to plan and well.

Their bats have been 'ok' but but even (except for bell who is has been pwned by the aussies) their bowlers are all on or under 30 runs p/w.

for Aus, its been SKW. Pidgeon been ok when he's played, Lee, Kaspa and dizzy have been rubbish.

for the Aus bats, pretty much only clarke, langer and punter have put their hands up, with lee and warne batting well with the tail.

basically Freddie is the best of the good lot, Warne has been legendary.

If you could pick ONE player from this series to play in your test team, who would it be? For Me Warne.

Freddie = great series with the bat, and solid with the ball, Warne = something out of legend (33 wickets at 20 on glass decks bowling leg spin, had lord Dextor ordered the pitches be prepared because englands spinners > australian spinnders, Warne would have all the wickets by now, and everyone else would be just holding up an end while he scoff another meat pie or did a 30 second naked horizontal lambada job on the bonnet of teddy's car....)

He's a great man and when he's off the field he can do what he likes. He's like a rock star. What's wrong with sex and drugs and gambling anyway?

in my team? as in Australia? if so then definately Warne, hands down. Perfect in this ashes series.

BUT i still stand by my beforementioned opinion that Flintoff should get it. Dont forget he practically dismantled the Aussie team alot of time in the bowling, and his batting has been superb. I serioulsy see him as the biggest opponent to be afraid of, and practically party when he goes out. Also, when his over finishes i relax alot more knowing that some over brit ********er would be making life easier for our batters.

I think we can all agree though that these two, in Warne and Flitnoff, have been the standout players of this series.

If we win this test he'll get it. If we don't then Flintoff may just edge him out.

Love ya Warney.

He should get Man of the Series whether we lose or win. He's been our rock this series.

Freddie got runs yesterday, so I would say it is still pretty even

If Australia win this match, Warnie will get it and MOM as he will have to take 15 wickets and make a century or two :D

On and off the field, Warne is everything an Australian male aspires to be.

A fat lazy bastard who gets heaps of poontang and kicks all his mates arses at their sport of choice.

Give it to both Flintoff and Warne

Both have been as superb as each other

I'd agree both Flintoff/Warne if the series is drawn.
