You had to watch alot of club champions play for other clubs durring the nineties.

Which one was the hardest to watch in an opposition jumper?

Doug Barwick - Collingwood
Paul Roos - Swans
Paul Broderick - Richmond
Michael Gale - Richmond
Osborne-Collingwood,Footscray,Sydney
Alistair Lynch - Brisbane
Doc Wieldon - Essendon
John Blakey - Kangaroos

Broderick. He always played well against us & we'd given him away to get Jeff Hogg, who turned out to be a dud.

Matty Dundas! :p

No, definitely Roosy. Whilst I never felt any anger at him going, I felt that his whole Fitzroy relationship was gone and he wouldn't be a 300 gamer with us. He was the spirit of Fitzroy in the 80's and the early 90's and for him to leave, even though we tried to sell him off a few times, left a void in my heart.

Matt Armstrong and Broders were the other two.

(Renato Serafini going to Carlton in the early 70's: that broke my mum's heart!)

Perty, once he went it was all down hill sailing, into the abyss.

Lynch gave me (& Fitzroy in general) the most pain when he left us, but he didn't ever play against Fitzroy & I only watched Fitzroy games, so I didn't ever see him play for the Bears.

I think he did because I recall Robert Shaw telling Paul Roos to not worry about the fact Lynch was a mate and that because Lynch was carrying an injury in his shoulder that Roos should take the opportunity to bust it if he could.

I think it was a game at the Whitten Oval.

Practice match at QEO, Bendigo. Fitzroy pumped Brisbane and Lynch got a bath. It was a windy day on the main street, don't carry two bags of shopping if you're wearing a dress.

I remember that day vaguely. I don't think Lynchy was looking forward to anything Robert Shaw was going to have dished up! Shawy was scarey even if you were on the same side
