The 2005 Season is drawing to a close. The final Grand Finals of the year will be completed this Saturday and Sunday. A review of each of the games will follow.

Riverina Football League - (RiverinAFL.com will be attending)

Sunday 2:30pm at Narrandera Sportsground, Narrandera will play minor premiers Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong.

This will be Narrandera’s first Grand final appearance since 1986 when is crushed the Lions by 54 points in front of 4,200 fans.

The Eagles are Narrandera’s sole major sporting team and Ganmain having one of the largest followings in country NSW. Given fine weather a huge crowd should witness the game.

Both teams should be at full strength for the game.

In the minor finals,
Reserves - Narrandera v Coolamon
Under 18's - Ganmain-GG-M v Turvey Park.

Netball grandfinal will be played in the Sports Stadium with the following games to be completed;

A Grade - Turvey Park v Ganmain-GG-M
B Grade - Griffith v Coolamon
C Grade - Griffith v Narrandera
Juniors - Griffith v Narrandera


HUME Football League - (RiverinAFL.com will be attending)

On Saturday perennial Grand Finalists Osborne take on Culcairn at Walbundrie. Culcairn scraped into the finals in the last round and have taken all before them to reach the Grand Final.

Taking this season's form into account Osborne should crush the Lions but 2005 has seen some major upsets, so you just never know.

Ovens and Murray Football League

Sunday will see the replay of the 2001 Grandfinal between Myrtleford and Lavington. That game was the Panthers last premiership whereas the Saints will be out to win their first flag in 35 years. The last being in 1970 against Wang Rovers.

In other Finals,

Reserves - Wodonga will defeand its title against Wang Rovers and in the
3rds Wodonga will again defend its title against Rovers.

In Netball
A Grade - Wodonga v Wang Rovers
B Grade - Wodonga Raiders v Wodonga
C Grade - Wodonga Raiders v North Albury

Murray Footbal League

Nathalia take on Tocumwal in a game in which either side can make amends for recent lost Grandfinals. In 2003 The Bloods lost to Deni and last year the Purples also lost to Deni.

Nathalia will be after their first flag since 1978 and Tocumwal its first since 1991.

Thanks for the details...however Myrtleford's only O and M flag was in 1970, while Tocumwal won the Murray League flag in 1991 or 1992...

Also the O and M 3rd's grand final is the fifth straight year Wodonga and Rovers have gone head to head...2 all at the moment

Ah nuts. First it was Balranald going down to Swan Hill in the Central Murray League final, now it was Narrandera going down in the Riverina Football League, both were by hefty margins. There is always next year for the Narrandera Eagles...c'mon boys.
