Cameron Baker didnt play along with Haldane also interesting to note Madigan olny just started training played twos on the weekend along with Joey Thomson and also heard supposely Matty Bettin played twos also, looks like Albion got acouple to come back into the side sooner or later.
Matty Bettin meant to be a gun junior? Albion captain a few years ago why is he playing twos
James likes to go at it one handed and try to juggle it like a basketballer, doesnt work very hard. Baker didnt play and will help alot when he does goes well.
As for Ali, he is strong in the ruck contests plays like a rover when the balls on the ground, but he is meant to be a ruckman and take pack marks or any marks around the ground. And he kicks like a ruckman back in the 1920s.
Fair call. His kicking is very ordinary. As for Matty Betin, great junior and on his day can tear it up, just not consistantly. By him playing in the 2's i would assume he would have a a fair stint of injury to be down there. I really think Albion are just going to be pretenders again this year. All the hype and deffinately some coin spent down there this year(with Terry Cooper taking over the raines as president) will amount to nothing.

Here is my tips for this week boys, for what it is worth:
ALBION V PORT COLTS- Colts to take the points after a spirited first half from Albion who you would think would be breathing fire after last weeks defeat.
SPOTSWOOD V PARKSIDE- Spotty, easily game of the round. Have only picked spotty because it is at their home ground, could go any way this one.
SEDDON V HOPPERS XING- Hoppers easily. Last weeks spirited first quarter by seddon will ensure clubs ar eon their game with them right from the word go. Hoppers will be on song from the start and take a comfortable win.
ST ALBANS V ALTONA- St Albnas, will be more keen than Altona to get that first win.
YARAVILLE V SUNSHINE- Sunshine should get up, the extra size of yarraville's ground will suit our run and also Stenhouse up forward.
Going to be a pearler of a day weather wise tomorrow, hopefully it ensure some good standard of footy is played.

Can anyone tell me if the little man Elton is back playing this week? I think the Colts struggled a bit without him last week. And can anyone from the Colts tell me how Squishy's going?
All the best to everyone for the weekend. A fair chance there could be some upsets for round 3.

Colts should hold James, which holds Albion. Not looking that pearly down at Parsons.
I'll have to go against Travvy here and go with the Maggies. Jus think there forward line is too strong. Condos didin't touch it in the first quarter and still kicked 10.
Nothing needs to be said about Hoppers, espacially since they look like the pacesetters at the minute.
Fitzy's 350th for the club will see St.Albans get over the line convincingly.
Sunshine to over-run Yarraville at their home ground.
Good week for all footy boys.

Love to know how Spotswood v Parks isnt match of the round.. Should be a cracker. Two big bodied teams, will go close. Parks will scrape in, think the colts will get over albion, st albans will account for altona, hoppers to continue the streak and the Kangas to get over Yarraville. Will be a good game for us, as previously mentioned in other posts, Yarraville will keep everyone on their guard. Cracking day for it, hopefully the Kangas can put a 4 quarter effort together and relish the bigger ground...
Cheers

A young bloke by the name of Nathan Schroder goes well in Under 18's for Werribee. Still in the under 16's for the jets but has a lot of tallent. Has played a few years in the Victorian side out of the centre.
Apparently Western Jets are expecting big things.
can anyone tell me who are the gun players in this league in the under 18s that we should be on the look out for thanks guys.

Yes as it was int he paper was correct. Brunswick Power got up fo rthier first win, with their star forward Hardaway kicking ten. this bloke from what i hear can play, North Ballarat chased him a bit last year, but he just was not interested.

Not sure if this is old news, but last night i heard that seddon may be reverting to bulldog jumpers as a part of their partnership with the doggies that was announced during the pre-season.
As a part of the partnership they are hoping to act as werribees feeder club, meaning that players not needed int he werriibee magoos on a certain week will play with seddon.
I am assuming this is if the bloke does not have an existing feeder club, ie, i would hate to see Sunshine's representative playing with werribbee being forced to play with seddon if he does not get a game in the tigers reserves.

Big game for you guys this week Travvy43, Hoppers have been in some good form of late. Can you beat them?, if so were do you think you will beat them around the ground?. I think it will be a tough assignment, I cant see you getting to within 10 goals. no offence just going on recent games, I.e St Albans. I'm going to this game, will you be playing?.

Spot on it is going to be a huge game for the Sunshine Kangaroos this week. After the disappointment of spotty we have had two wins, and that is all they have been, nothing overly convinsing about them. Maybe the test this week will bring out four good quality quarters of football which we have been a long way off doing so far this year.
From what i have been told we have a good record against hoppers of late. Training last night was of a good standard and the boys realise that this is the challenge we have been waiting for since spotty.
Go kangas
Good to see the standard of umpiring hasnt changed, absolute rubbish some of the decisions these clowns give,if you are an umpire reading these threads,a piece of advice.. stop watching afl games and trying to be like those umpires and concentrate on the game at hand 2 totally different styles and pace so just umpire to the standard and stop trying to get involved in the game, the sign of a good umpire is one who goes unnoticed during the game, take that onboard, you clowns

No need to apologise in regards to the prediction Raza- from our form over the first 3 rounds compared to hoppers, everyone in their right mind would tip Hoppers. That being said, its a good chance for us to play a top 2 contender and have a real crack. We will find out where were really at, and hopefully we have improved from the poor showing against another finals aspirant in spotty in round 1. As Travvvy said, its time for us to put together a big four quarter effort- anything less and the result will speak for itself. Over the first few rounds we have shown some patches of what we can do, but not over a consistent 120 minutes.
We'll go in quietly confident and ready to have a ripping crack at Hoppers. With a bit of luck, we might get a few boys back which can only help. Should be a good contest.

Quietly confident!!!!!, you have got to be kidding!!!!. You guys only just beat St Albans and Yarraville by less than 6 goals. If i do recall correctly Hoppers won both of these game by 95 points. Like I asked Travvy, how do you think you will beat them?, obviosly no answers means that you wont have any winners on the day.

Case closed then from your point of view RAZA, we may as well not even show up!!!
Listen Raz if i knew anything about hoppers i would give you a bit of a heads up on ways to exploit them, but i dont.
We have to play the game on our terms, control the tempo of the game move the ball quite to our forwards so they are one out.
As kangaroo and i have said, our wins v Yarraville and St Albans would not have convinced anyone around the league, and going on past results hoppers would be odds on favourite. Gotta love being the underdog though, we have nothing to loose.
There is no doubt Sunshine are the underdog in this one, watched all there games so far this year and they really havent played any quality footy at this point. Seem to be coming together as a team at this stage, but patches have shown that if they are ever on they will be an awesome unit. Think there strengths are there skill level and speed, with the ball moving quicker then any other team in the league. They will need to match hoppers around the stoppages, but this may prove tough with the players like frost, cavka and carson roving off venner. Thats a star studded on ball unit right there. Although Sunshine do match up well, and have been more then competitive in the past its Hoppers by 6 goals for me. In other games Albion will smash Seddon, surely they have no one to match up on James or Haldane. Yarraville should get over the line against Altona, they have improved 10 times on last year. Parkside will smash St Albans, exspecially at home, Condos will dominate once again, have to be favourite for the league medal. and Port will put Spotty back in there place, too agressive and physical for the slick spotty midfield, on the small ground at Colts they will get up by 8 goals. Any thoughts?

Well said KODAK, you'e spot on. Apparently Cavka can't even get a game in the ones down at Hoppers, played in the two's on the weekend.
all this talk that hoppers are so much better than the rest is crap, they have played no top sides yet and yes they are winning by big margins because they are front runners that prey on weak opposition and when challenged i think it will be a different story.I do believe that any of the top sides can win on their day out of hoppers colts parkside and spotty ,im also tipping a sunshine win this week as i believe the hoppers boys will be thinking their better than what they really are, and because its their first real test i think they will not be ready for sunshines run and physical pressure trust me on this i will be right . go kangas

well bronco good to hear from u. Yes clarke might be getting on the end of a few and kicking some goals but lets be honest it's the other two old timers that are the back bone of this side webb[mouth of the west] and les [i;ll sign a two year contract]are the real guns of this side.I think it might be a good idea if the colts coaching staff ease them along all year not to much training and rest them in some easier games and they will continue to dominate for the whole year and keep them motivated, see you tomorow bronco27

every team has to be on the radio game at least once this season. it should be an alright game but not the quality of the above games you mentioned.

clake is like a bottle red wine he is a gun which age has'nt court up to him yet and looks like he good play for a good four more years.unlike some of the other old timers who look like there ready to join the other old bloaks and start geting drunk on the side lines.:thumbsu:
Any names, agree with the Clarke comments from Budda and yourself
well bronco good to hear from u.
Agree Webb does that now doesnt he, on the other foot would miss Taylors company and laughs(very funny man)
Well ROCK, trust you , you say, if Sunshine don't take home the bickies, you have left yourself wide open for some descent critisism, if Sunshine do, you know your footy. Good luck to both sides, I will be there on saturday and look forward to a fast, physical game. What's the go with the game between Altona and Yarraville being match of the round!!!. would have thought spotty v port or kangas v hoppers would be of more interest?????.
They have to give each side a least one game and they pick it 3 weeks before, look forward to an update on Hoppers V Sunshine, is Carson one of the best fowards in the comp very hard to stop if deliver is right

The bearded badger is Joel Harrison. It is a terrible looking thing aint it. L thats an absolute shocker i should of known it was him hardly recognised him with it geez hes a character
welcome back old son,all of the above did what they had to to get the points, the ruckman won every hit out and took a few marksa around the ground yet they gave assard best for albion???one of those old timers would have to start running now to be fit for next year.but if he did get himself halfway fit there would be alot of nervous opposition players, cos we all know he suffers from white line feverit would be great to have a kick with you again, but for now i will just settle for a few pots.a few people are keen to find out who madpie really is,can you help them any?

Can I ask a question?
There are a number of teams which struggle for players
ie:
1st Div: Seddon
2nd Div: Central Altona, Western Magpies, Brunswick Power
Yet, you have some teams with 60+ players where 1 or so miss out per week - why dont these clowns play for teams with no numbers?
Does it really matter who you play for unless you're getting a game?
I personally think it has a lot to do with the culture of a club. Sunshine for example had 51 on the track last night and blokes completely missed out on a game this week. Blokes that missed on games just love being around the club, and could not see then remotely interested in pulling on the boots for Centrals or Power.
wrfl fan what game will you be going to watch this week and your thoughts on the year so far?not much seems to have changed from years gone by.
Colts V Spottswood i might go down to if i get off work eariler enough, Hoppers seem to be flying and Spotty are always there abouts, Sunshine will kick soon and Parkside well there Parkside they are always in it, Albion have got :D:D:D:D midfielders that would rather fu ck around with it on the wings rather that kick it there forwards that go well too. Yarraville will push sides this year, Seddon will have a crack at the start of games before they realise there not in it and will stop trying as hard as they started they lack the belief to win, Altona well they are unknow to me and finally St Albans the lowest team and supporters in the whole of Victoria even worst than Braybrook and i know Braybrook will be disapionted in me saying that but sorry they get in groups of retrarded men and pick on anyone, even women that are by themselves(good blokes), anyway they are struggling and isnt it a SHAME.
The top three is going to be out of Colts Hoppers and Parkside and in the finals it will a great finals series as it was last year. Get to training Buddha and madpie give that old bloke a spell
Big Julia is flying, Stayce Masis only knows one one to play the game and even blokes from his team get out of the way for him, Clarke bleeds red and blue and is one of the best if not the best forward in the comp, backline warriors in Jacobs, Chiller, Taylor. Bonnett, Keely and Webb will beat any forward line, midfielders in Twomey, Cooper, Burns and McNaulty all flying, then a destructive number of forwards in Winters,Brennan, Cox, Sequinzia, and Clarke, then your utilites in DeBruin, the two Brackens, Turnball, Critch, Stevens and Moppa. And there is pressure i am told on blokes from the two's who for a long time are flying and the boys reckon its a good feeling down. Its a team that maybe can match the might of the Great Force That They Call Hoppers, if they can combine togeather on the day we might come close to Hoppers.
Good Luck Boys

How could you play against your mates its hard enough in intra clubs, let alone a match for preimiership points

just wondering if all you colts players are up coach clarke's arse giving him a rapp all the time, or has he just got a few user names and he keeps rapping himself, knowing the big head he is it's probably him.Just make sure you boys don't get to excited about his goal kicking i have heard he struggles in the big games and your forward structure is not much at all.
Either way the rest are playing for second prize it's hoppers all the way

Sunshine to finally come good and keep their great record over Hoppers(hope so anyway)
Albion to beat Seddon(match of the round)
Yarraville to sneak past Altona
Parkside to flog St Albans
Being park footy and with all them hacks and would be AFL wantabes anything could happened and i could get them all wrong.
Im going to watch the Western Magpies play i just love that skill level in Div 2, and the twos go well too

well what a big week it has been in football in the wrfl!!! ive seen wit my own eyes that sunshine r protenders not contenders, we flogged them by 10 goals + and they r very ordinary, all this talk bout them bein fast and wat have u, it is all rubbish! they looked dis-interested to me, and for that we sit comfortably on top by % from the colts! the "premiership favourites" i see just hung on by a few over a average spotty team, and then the biggest upset of year so far wit st.albans accounting for parkside, very impressive for the saints, on the other hand very disappointing for parkside, but they will fight back like usual, and then yarraville and albion disposing of the lowly rated teams in seddon and altona, which was always going to happen!!! i think everyones just waiting patiently for the round 7 clash between hoppers and colts, to see who will confirm who the premiership favourites really are, and a big question for every1 is "Who will be match of the round in round 7, hoppers v colts, or seddon v altona?" go hoppers till next week!!!

Not far off with the likes of Bellingham to come in first but the signs are great for depth and the rumour is Newman is a chance to return to the treasured Murphys Number 1 oval and bring another bloke with him a small hard on baller

Hopefully Hoppers can keep stay up at the cracking pace they are setting and not drop off at the business end
Oh and by the way, how strong is your source on Newman & co? Would the mate be one of the corowa boys training down with him?

i'm tipping if the colts switch on and play team football they will win comfortably and as long as they understand that it's just another footy ground doesn't matter who's home it is,also i think they will respond to what happened out there last year

Full credit to the hoppers boys on the weekend, by far the superior side on the day. We missed a lot of opportunities in the opening quarter kicking 2 goals 7 and then hoppers just flicked a switch in the second and hammered home a 10 goal quarter.
We gave half a yelp in the firts 10-15 mins of the third quarter and then hoppers went on their merry way.
They are a side with good quality talls and the little blokes they have all have some toe.

Well ROCK07, I think after last weeks prediction when you suggested that Sunshine would beat Hoppers and I think you mentioned the words "trust me they will", your tip on any of the games would mean very little to the readers of this forum. From now on try to keep your uneducated tips to yourself. As for the game on the weekend at sunshine, I went to have a look and from all reports Sunshine was supposed to give a bit of challenge to Hoppers, this did happen for about 5 minutes in the 1st 1/4 only because Sunshine had a descent wind going towards there goals and missed a couple of opportunities, that's where it ended. The 2 term saw Hoppers smash a very slow, poorly skilled and very undermaned Sunshine with a 10 goal to nil 2nd 1/4. The 3rd and final 1/4's saw Hoppers run away with a very easy win with only a slight yelp from Sunshine in the 3rd 1/4. Hoppers look to have fast running side with very good skills and will be hard to stop, look forward to Hoppers v Port Colts.
