View Full Version : Vics to play ICC World XI in Warm Up to Super Series
It was announced on SEN today that Victoria will play a one day warm up match against the ICC World XI on Monday October 3. Venue not yet announced but likely to be at the Junction Oval. This should be another good days cricket in the lead up to the Super Series starting on October 5.

Sounds good!
Will try and get down there if possible - and will be a fair bit cheaper than the very expensive prices for the Aussies v World XI Super Series.

If this is at the Junction Oval, I hope they shut down the roads around it or else Pietersen, Flintoff especially are going to do some serious damage to any unlucky cars driving past
Although it would be funny if the Vics did better than the Aus team or if a couple of individuals put in strong performances

This will quite possibly be the most hilarious game of cricket ever played. Too bad they won't telecast it. I wonder if Hodge will make a negative score against a side with so many decent bowlers!

Never know with you, ed- Warne retired from one day internationals- doubt he would play there....but Flintoff is in the World side...which one did you mean?
And at your favourite ground, too- you taking your cross of St George out with you?

Warney plays for Victoria whenever he isnt playing Tests, so he is a chance, atleast this wont be like the NZ game where the Vics were all playing State cricket at the same time so we fielded a 2nd XI
Warney is the best bowler, Freddie the best all rounder

I'm tipping Hodge might be in Pakistan for the Australia A Tour unless he is included in the Australian One Day squad.
I'm sure the Australian ODI squad will be full of NSW 2nd XI players such as Thornley, Nicholson, Bracken etc I'm still waiting for Gavin Robertson to make a comeback.....

Hodgey and co will be home (Phew! :D)
11 Sep 2005 Pakistan A v Australia A Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium f48350
17 Sep 2005 Pakistan A v Australia A Khan Research Laboratory Ground, Rawalpindi FC
23 Sep 2005 Pakistan A v Australia A Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore ListA
25 Sep 2005 Pakistan A v Australia A Bagh-e-Jinnah, Lahore ListA
27 Sep 2005 Pakistan A v Australia A Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore ListA
Should be good experience for the Vics, even though we will probably get smashed.

We're gonna get rooted. But with Hodgie and co playing, we might only lose by less than 100 runs.

Good o isnt that the last thing the Australians need not that Eddie cares of course but a Victorian team to play superstars such as Pollock, Tendulkar and Vettori into their game
Victorians will lose heavily i can just see Mick Lewis bowling Tendulkar Harvey bowling Pollock
In completly unrelated news, yes Pigs can actually fly!

as much as i hate to say it. the vics will get smashed. Wont have anyone with international expierience if warne doesnt play. Elliot, Harvey gone. Hodge with aussie a team. this could be very embarrassing. go vics...

Harvs is gone
The Vics have been far from embarrasing against touring teams in the past, wont be any different here, hell our Development XI did well against the Kiwis last year at the Albert Ground
And Hodgey will be playing as the Aus A tour ends the week before freak29
