Jacob King played awesome and so did Hancock
Its 9.28 now and i bet all of them are still going strong

I heard that a North player came onto the field, belted a Heidelberg player within seconds, and was sent off. Is this true ?

Went to the game, was not the best of days at a windwept, rian swepped Epping Recreation Reserve.
Heild had mor eof the ball int he first half but did not have a dominant small forward on the day whereas nth held had 2 or 3 to compliment their two big forwards.
Very true with a nth heild player coming onto the ground and being sent off. He was a ruckman, went up for his first boundary throw in, copped a cheap one (which there was many of throughout the day) which was well hidden and then he thrusted his forearm at a blokes head in a not too discreet fashion. And that was the end of his day, red carded.

For a while maybe, but it was definately the first contest he was involved in. Right there was not a heap in it but he could have disguised it a lot better than what he did.

Overall i thought the standard of umpiring was very average.

Umpiring is always average in the DV.Didn't catch the incident but the ruckman will get off. Seen him do some ordinary things on a football field though.
Nth followed their gameplan to the letter. Shutdown Hally and Shears, have Caddy keep Gay honest in the ruck and run the ball up the ground with their pin point disposal. Had a bit of luck with Dale Nolan seeming to carry an injury so wasn't as effective as usual. A lot of H'berg players couldn't get into the game and as the match wore on they pretty much went into their shells.
It was certainly a high standard encounter where it was hard to get a kick. Despite their forward line not working H'berg refused to make any changes. Should have swung Trew, Laing or one of the Nolans forward and maybe sent Hally back.
The HFC were obviously shattered. Going onto the GF they had only lost 3 games in 2 years so i think the space had been cleared in the trophy cabinet a while ago. But great work by Gadget (what a game), Smudge and the Doggies brain trust to pull of the win after losing the past 5 to H'berg. The Kennel brigade will be crunching cans for a while yet.

Everyone who gets reported while wearing a north heidelberg guernsey are more than likely gonna get a few weeks. It always been like that. The tribunal is corrupted. When they hear a north heidelberg player will be attending, they ask each other "how many weeks u reckon this time?"
It ain't fair.

i totally agree with u. if i got 10 weeks but still got the medal i would be happy. But its common knowledge about the tribunal's unfairness towards north.

It's been like that since 1971 mate when the D.V.F.L actually threw North out of the D.V.F.L for 12 months, unfortunatley it's a rep that will always stick they play hard sometimes unfair but that's the North way it will never change.

Mmm. The rest of the comp view things the other way. Believe that North get a good run.
Doggie15 did you get down to the Shelley St on Sat night? There would have been scenes of celebrations as the Bronx's favourites sons were presented to the faithful. Good to see their homegrown stars were able to get over the cashed up Bergers. If $180K can't buy you a flag what will?
"We played ********" was the apparent catch-cry at Warringal Park.

No doubt the Meillington debacle didn't help things.
Well done to the Dogs though, it's sweet enough winning a flag, but to beat a team that is so ******** sure of themselves is even better. Wonder where Heidelberg are going to find the money to try and buy the next flag !

I'm hearin ya, the head of the tribunal is an old North stalwart and former president. I've seen plenty of umpires turn a blind eye when a North player has decided to dish out a few cheapies. ( J B comes to mind )

Chris Smith from North Heidelberg, assistant coach i think, number 17. What is his background. Looks an accomplished player.

That'd be Adam Smith, former AA Teal Cupper and Vic Sheffield Player. Had a run at Ky and in the SANFL also. Didn't set the world on fire this year but i believe his assistant coaching was invaluable - especially as a fresh set of eys at the kennel. Smart, experienced player. Good bloke.
