A friend of mine (who is pretty accurate with Carlton news) has said Fevola & Lappin will be at St Kilda next year in return for Goddard & Fisher.
I think the Blues are getting ripped but it frees up a lot of cash and you get a tall backman and a kid with a lot of talent.

We are certainly copping the rough end there. That is a crap deal that I hope never happens unless we get a high draft pick with it (top 10).

Throw in a first or second round pick and I'll take it.

Are you guys for real
Fev must be kept at all costs! We lack match winners as it is!
While Fisher & Goddard are solid players they sure can't win a game off their own boot unlike the Shag when he is firing!
Summary NO

If St Kilda are struggling to pay all there players under the cap now, how are they going to to do it with Fevola and Lappin.

Agree, would be looking for a 1st round draft pick as well before I'd even consider pulling the trigger on this deal. Fevola should be kept IMO unless a no-brainer of a trade is offered.
Seems unlikely though..........how are St Kilda going to afford them within their Salary Cap? (unless Harvey & Gehrig retire).
I don't think we'll be looking to pay any of Fev's salary...........if he gets traded it will be salary and all.

I'd say if Saints are going for Fev then Gehrig will retire and he would be on a fair bit.
They can have Whitnall, Lappin and Houlihan if they want :D

Ambivilant. Don't really give a toss who we lose. We are so far off winning a flag it's not funny, so why keep these players. Trade for what we can get and build a side.
Fev's done nothing all year so losing him wont hurt us, hell we only won 4 games and 1 of those was without him.

He was injured for nearly the whole year and still kicked 50 goals in the worst side in the league. Without him, we will be a lot worse off. Losing him, will hurt us BIG TIME!

Stuff Fev. I was a big Fevola fan up until midway through the season hence my name. Now I dont give a stuff, ******** him off and all the baggage that comes with him for all I care. Sure he has talent, but he also has inconsistency. Its no big deal or loss really.

It would be a huge loss if we lost him. Are we going to rely on Morrell, Betts, Kouta, Hartlett, Longmuir, Setanta, Deluca or Bryan to kick 50+ for us?
This year:
Morrell: kicked about 10 or so goals
Betts: 19 (19 games, was great)
Kouta: 10 or so
Hartlett: 0 (didn't play)
Longmuir: 8 I think
Setanta: 1 (1 game)
Deluca: 8
Bryan: 8
That's about 64 goals between those 8 players (an average of 8 goals per season). Waite was great, he kicked 36 and Fisher kicked 13 from only about 6 games. With Fev gone these two get the best two defenders when otherwise they would get the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best defender with Fev and Whitnall around them - making them more dangerous and likely to kick more goals. One of Whitnall or Fevola HAS to stay, preferably Fev as Lance will spend more time in defence.

Some good points but at the end of the day the club must ask themselves where the hell do we draw the line? What kind of leadership does Fev provide the young kids you mentioned. If its ok for Fev to give half hearted efforts on a consistent basis, is it ok for Waite, Fisher or Eddie to do the same. Hanging onto Fev for the chance that he might pull himself together could be a long and daunting task frankly the club doesn't need to take. Picking up a key position player in the draft such as a Dowler or Clarke playing alongside Big Red could be the breath of fresh air this club is looking for.

Whitnall - the worst trainer. No good examples there for the kids. Would still rather keep Fevola who is younger, a better goal kicker and has much more room for improvement. Whitnall's body won't hold up for much longer - get rid of him now while he is worth something.

If we lose Fevola we won't many games next year, not to mention he'll win the colman at another club. Can anyone honestly accept that?

Which Fisher is it? There is 2 at St Kilda Leigh & Sam.
argument there is we didn't win many games with him there this year (granted he played injured and we can look at 2004, 10 wins)
at times we looked a better team when we used fev as a decoy and we have won games in the past when he has not played.
we have waite and fisher who seem ready to take the next step and may flousish with the extra responsibility, but they may not.
Also without fev our FWD will no longer be one dimensional
the main problem is fev's attitude has seemed, not to have changed and he is still displaying the same frustrating behaviours of pervious years.
i could live with losing fev, provided we get adequatly compensated.
many teams over the years have lost key players and survived
it all comes down to how agressivly the club want to re-build, do we try and do it all in the next 2 drafts or do we do it over the next 4 drafts?

Get rid of Fev I say, he has no heart or passion for the club. The sooner we ******** him off to St. kilda the better, as long as we can secure: one good young player (anyone but Goddard, he will never become anything better than average) or a first round pick.
Lance is a must keep for the club and should be made captain in 2007. Big pre-season coming up for big red.
My forward line setup 2006:
E. Betts, L.Whitnall, S. O'hAilpin
B. Fisher, J. Waite, S. Camporeale

Lance has proved he cannot play in the forward line any more. When was the last time you remember Lance winning a game off his own boot?.....struggling to think of one? I know I am (don't even think about saying the Wizard Cup)
Give me Fev over Lance any day of the week. Lance is a liability where ever he plays these days.
Your comment about a big pre-season for Lance ahead is the funniest thing I have heard in awhile! :D

Fevola and Lappin for BJ and Chips? Wouldn't happen, not in a million years. We're pretty good with our list management you know. Lappin's what, 30? And what kind of salary would he demand? He is a Carlton man after all. And Fev seems a bit of a cultural cancer, wouldn't want him influencing our A-grade kids.

Hardly won the game off his own boot though.............From memory Eddie Betts was the one who turned that game on it's head.

I personally don't want to go back to relying on Lance as a forward. Too risky. Besides, the Waite/Fevola combo is just so damn talented, it would be a shame to split them up.
BTW, some of you guys are getting sucked in by the anti-Fev propaganda. He is not that bad. He's a passionate player and I'm sure he's enjoyed player for Carlton, just as us fans have enjoyed watching him. Atleast he's given us a marketng player for the last few years. Waite can take over that role next year though...

the board has gone cool on trading him. Great news to be honest. Unless someone offers Deledio, Cooney or sometrhing equally as silly then he will be here next year.

Was anyone at the B & F ,I heard Fev made a real p rick of himself! Had a full on slapfest with his Mrs,told Pagan to get f....d,cleared out his locker stating he doesn't want to play for a s hit club , as well as heckling Big Nick.
Don't jump down my throat..was told by the neighbour of a current player!!
Lastly,I think it's time for Fev to go ,he is poison at the club. It's one thing to be a leading forward, but he has no idea how to mark a football.
