Yes, the inside mail is Power will be traded to carlton in return for their spearhead B Fevola. Brisbane are keen to get a new forward to release Bradshaw into their backline.

If this does happen we want the No#1 draft pick and a player (in the mould of key position).

"We want"? You mean you want. The Lions know they won't get pick 1 for Power, let alone anything more.

In principal, a 26 yo midfielder is never worth pick 1. Now can someone please suggest some serious deals....

Power to stay in Brisbane.

Never deal with Pies or Carlton, too arrogant for their own good.

I don't really want him, no. But if I did, there's no way I'd trade Fev for him. Why? Because Fevola is worth more to us and to other clubs than Power.

Don't get me wrong. I want a good deal for Brisbane too. But you're asking price is just ridiculous. You simply do not trade number 1 draft picks. The last club to do this was Fremantle. They got 2 TALLS (Croad and McPharlin) for pick 1, and they still lost out. And you want to give us a 26 yo midfielder? That'll never work out for us....

We can offer you a deal, but as long as you understand that picks 1 and 4 are off limits. I'd imagine Collingwood would do the same with their top draft picks. We understand that Brisbane are looking at Whitnall. So Whitnall + maybe a 2nd rounder will get the trade done..

Fevola just isn't good enough to be as disruptive as he is. Pagan smiles and puts up with it for some bizarre reason, but there's no way Matthews will sign on for that.

Whitnall and his ever-increasing girth are a huge gamble for any club. News flash: Over-weight 25 year olds don't get any thinner and they don't play into their 30's. Hence he has marginal trade value to most. Someone like WC or Adelaide might win a flag by getting one good year out him, but that's certainly not where we are at.

Collingwood are looking at pick 5, and Motlop and Bartel are floating around looking for clubs. North will lose Grant so they'll have some cash freed up. No offence, but Carlton have no tradeable players of interest to Brisbane, so they are his least likely destination as far as I can see.

No offence taken but the pre season draft will play a big part. Power walks and we pick him up same way we did Stevens.

And how many flags did Martin Pike play in with the Lions? He won't go to Brisbane with their salary cap problems.

I'd rather keep him but If Luke is dead set on going, I'd straight swap him for Fevola.

Pike never made any trouble with the coach or the list. Over the same time Cupido, Stevie Lawrence and Adam Heuskes all got 'moved on' quick smart for not playing nice.

Carlton can forget picking up Power in PSD ! If they do land Power they will have to either give up Fev or Whitnall. Can't have all three otherwise your player payments will be through the roof. Correct me if I'm wrong but are'nt the board making big cost cuts ? Carlton of old would have landed him no problem but with finances the way the are... Forget it !!

There is no way Power will land in the PSD. There are plent of Victorian clubs who would want him and are prepared to offer a fair amount for him. With Stevens, Collingwood were the only one prepared to trade and they had little to trade to Port and what they did have up for trade Port didn't want.
Kangaroos, Essendon, Collingwood, St.Kilda (apparently), Carlton will all be bidding for his services.

Melbourne had a deal arranged with Port over Stevens. But he did not want to go there and put himslef into the PSD where he knew Carlton were going to pick him up. Pick 5 was the deal by Melbourne.
