2005/06 Victorian Premier Cricket Season gets underway this saturday.

It is Long Live Cricket day were all Australian and State contracted players play for their clubs.

Here is the fixture for This Saturday with contracted players that must play unless injured.

Round 1-Saturday October 1 (1 day game) 11am start
North Melbourne vs Camberwell Magpies at Arden Street
Contracted Players: Brad Knowles(CM)
Carlton vs Geelong at Princes Park #1
Contracted Players: Tim Welsford(Carl), Aaron Finch(Geel)
Casey-South Melbourne vs Frankston Peninsula at Harry Trott Oval
No Contracted Players
Prahan vs Dandenong at Toorak Park
Contracted Players: Jason Arnberger, David Hussey, Jon Moss, Matthew Harrison, Cameron Huckett(Prah), Peter Siddle(Dand)
Essendon vs St Kilda at Windy Hill
Contracted Players: Clinton McKay(Ess), Shane Warne, Nick Jewell, Michael Klinger, Graeme Rummans, Robert Quiney(StK)
Fitzroy Doncaster vs Melbourne Uni at Schramms Reserve
Contracted Players: Dirk Nannes,Peter Roach(FD)
Footscray Edgewater vs Northcote at Mervyn G Hughes Oval
Contracted Players: Matthew Innes(FE), Michael Lewis(Ncte)
Richmond vs Hawthorn Monash Uni at Monash Uni #1,Clayton
Contracted Players: Cameron White,Adam Crosthwaite,Allan Wise,Aiden Blizzard(Rich), Simon Dart(HMU).
Melbourne vs Ringwood at the Albert Ground
Contracted Players: Rob Cassell,Shane Harwood,Brad Hodge,Andrew McDonald,Josh Mangan(Melb.)

I have heard a rumour I am trying to confirm this but the Essendon vs St Kilda game could be broadcast on 774 ABC Melbourne because Warney is playing, I will try and confirm this before Saturday.

Thanks for the fixture, but at this early time the first round looks in doubt because of the crappy weather. Frankston might be up, but still 50-50

That would be typical, no chance that Hodgey and Co could play in Ringwood

st kilda and melbourne have a rather large bunch of contracted players when compared to the other clubs

i know that south melbourne hit over 200, with 100 of them coming in the last 10 overs but i dunno of individual scores from there

3's for st kilda got done, had an awesome side, but played very ordinary. was noticebly the first game of the year.

I just looked but there wasnt any on there for the 2nds, 3rds or 4ths. But maybe they havent been updated yet
