Am I right in saying that N.O.Bs are merging / have merged with someone for 2006 and beyond ?

For some not in the loop, what's the story?

Although I never played there, I went to school at North.

I let NOB's spokesperson Alphonse tell the story...

I've searched around the forum and found out something about St Pat's in Ballarat.

We've forged an alliance with St Pats, all going to plan it will see things moving forward again. Apparently the boys from St Pats had heard about the cheesey lasagne on thursday nights and never looked back as they united at the Gillon.

I heard one of the guys from NOBS spent footy trip in Adelaide getting into bars and clubs by impersonating Josh Mahoney. Is this true?

Yes that is true, we are now NOBSPC (North Old Boys-St Pats College). We are hopefull that they will provide us with feed of young players to make us competitive in the higher grades of the VAFA. More news will be announced in the coming weeks but it is exciting times at the Gillon.

Alphonse there has been suggestions around VAFA that NOBSPC now actually stands for NOB Spastics? Can you confirm or deny?

Will there be a new jumper for the new combine ? I would hate to wonder what the new strip will look like ... Purple, Green, Blue and White aint a good combo to put fear into any opposition sides  !

Just buy some Dockers jumpers and paint the red bits blue.....

Mmmmm....NOBSPC - I can see a good opportunity for a sponsorship deal with a multinational canned goods entity.

Might even be able to get Mike Brady to re-write your theme song (to the theme of his famous jingle for SPC Baked Beans and Spaghetti).

Some marvellous opportunities ahead for the NOBSPC boys. Here's hoping it's more successful than the Ivanhoe-Assumption AFC arrangement!!

Alphonse, could you please respond.

I have been hearing that NOBS have approached a guy called Mark to see whether he would be interested in the senior coaching position? Apparantly he was a former gun from up Bendigo way. Captained the junior team up that way who had 6 guys who went on to play AFL/VFL footy including Geoff Southby. The word is that for the last few years he has been a very successful basketball coach.

Can you confirm or deny?

Will Alphonse be taking a role on the coaching committee? He should.

I think Alphonse might be too busy putting mature age students from RMIT in headlocks to worry about coaching committee's. Who did NOBS end up appointing as coach?
