What happened on the cage on Tuesday? Listening on the way to work Wednesday and from what I can gather Pete's been told not to come back until he apologises to management and Bridgette?

They did play a small clip of him telling Fitzy and management to get stuff, and then storming out.

What did I miss? Or is it just a work?

It's nothing. No walk off on radio is ever real.

Duclois took offence, apparently, to being compared to a chicken Subway.

Management asked Berner to apologise.

Berner refused and stormed out.

They were playing it over and over again yesterday morning between 8-9.

'I'm off!'

Or so the story goes...

Didn't hear what you were referring to, but Pete Berner wasn't on the Cage this morning, and 'Dicko' from Dancing with the Stars filled in for him this morning.

What did he actually say, anyway? it couldn't be any worse than something rude and offensive that JB says everyday!

That's what I gathered. As noted by Chuppa Chup wasn't back today either...

What's the big deal about been compared to a Chicken Sub from subway?

Apology hard to swallow

DRAMA behind the scenes on The Cage breakfast show on Triple M after an on-air spat between Peter Berner and Brigitte Duclos.

It began on Tuesday after Berner suggested he would have his own diaries, similar to those of Mark Latham.
The team was discussing who would play who if the book was made into a movie.

Berner suggested Russell Crowe could be him and someone else suggested Duclos could be played by Cate Blanchett.

Out of nowhere, Berner said Duclos should be played by a "chicken Subway" sandwich.

Duclos became annoyed and demanded an on-air apology.

Berner took offence and walked out of the Sydney studio where he is based.

He has refused to apologise on air and hasn't been back to work.

A Triple M spokesman said Duclos and Berner had settled their differences, but problems still existed between Berner and station management.

I struggle to believe the Cage is still on the air and that people actually listen to it.

It's frightening.

I agree.

Usually listen to Nova 100 Breakfast, but have been listening more to Vega 91.5 now. Shaun Micallef is great!

Its a set-up. He was granted permission to take leave for the same period. Coinky-dinky? I think not.

Yeah, 99.99 percent of the time radio is complete bull********. If not a total setup it would have been a little joke they ran with it and blew out of all proportion for publicity.

Jesus I don’t listen to commercial radio, I live in Brisbane and I’ve heard about it. Sounds like a fantastic stunt to me.
