Not being in Adelaide, I don't know......has there actually been any Port fan rebellion over Fabian Francis leaving the club?

I'm not in SA either, but I keep close tabs on the club happenings thruough various channels, and whilst there's some disappointment there's no dissent.

Altho Flash was the favourite player of many, we support a club, not a player. It'll be sad seeing him in some other colours but I hope he does well. Just not against us....

Ah well.

I bet he ends up at the crows.

There's an article in today's Advertiser saying the Crows don't have him in their plans so he is unlikely to be picked up by them. Here's a quote from the article that suggests he may not even get picked up - "It appears Adelaide – and other AFL clubs – is reluctant to touch Francis whose exit from Alberton has been laden with off-field tension."

Article - Francis left in limbo (http://www.theadvertiser.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,3102900%255E12428,00.html)

I'd probably say that too if I was the Crows.

If it looks like no-one is interested, it achieves two things...

a) Fabian is nervous, and eventually grateful when he is drafted.\
b) Opposition think you're not interested, so they're prepared to wait until their last pick to draft him....then Adelaide or whoever can jump in and get him a fraction earlier (ie. with pick 60)

I'd love to see him end up at Fremantle, as they could really do with someone of his experience and class.
Can we still pick him up pre-season if he agrees to our terms, and he's still available???

Nah, because he's probably set a minimum contract on himself with his draft application.....you can't do that. get drafted and then change your mind.

He might be able to resubmit his draft nomination though...but then everyone would still be able to get a piece of him.

I think you will find that Fabian is still currently on the Port list and still could be retained if he has a change of heart and agrees to what Port is offering.

He maybe left with no choice but to stay at Port if no sides show any interest in him.

Fabian has expressed his interests to go in the draft but I don't believe he has yet been delisted, we will know for sure by October 31. I have a feeling Port are still holding onto some glimmer of hope as Fabian still has not filled out the draft form.

Well, they did pull that a trick with Scott Bassett wanting to leave the club a couple of years ago....
