A good draw for us, play interstate only 4 times and most of the teams we play twice were towards the bottom of the ladder this year.

Not sure why we play at the SCG instead ot Telstra Stadium though?

pretty good fixture in my opinion.

4 interstate trips only
7 of the 8 teams we only play once played finals footy last year :thumbsu:
Swans are beatable i reckon, don't wanna go 0-2

Pretty good draw.

Only come up against 2005 top 8 sides on 9 occasions, playing St Kilda and West Coast (most people’s picks for next year) only once, and avoiding trips to West Coast and Port, trips which traditionally give us trouble.

We play 10 games at the Dome and 8 at the MCG, travelling 4 times: Gabba, Subi (Freo), AAMI (Adel) and the SCG. 8 Saturday Night games, 6 Friday Night games, 3 Saturday games, 4 Sunday games and ANZAC day on the Tuesday.

Tough first couple of weeks with the premiers and Brisbane at the GABBA, but then hit a soft patch for 6 weeks, giving us every chance if we’re good enough. Toughest part of the season comes then, playing 2005 top 8 sides for 7 out of the next 8 weeks, to finish with a fairly easy run home.

All up I’d say the best draw we’ve had in years.

There's only really a couple of games that we will go into as significant underdogs. All the others are very much winnable. With that kind of draw, surely finals are not out of the question in what looks like being another very even year.

* Excellent Draw
* 8 losses last year were close
* Stanton, Lovett, Dyson, Bradley, Monfries and Laycock coming on strong
* Pick #7... for now
* Hille looking good (although need exp. back-up)
* Didn't finish off the season too badly.... with
* McPhee, Fletcher, Ramanauskas, Rioli coming back into the team

should we be at least a little excited???

Definitely. I think we can finish above Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Kangas, Port, Brisbane, Richmond, and possibly Freo, Dogs and Melbourne. That would put us in 6th on the ladder, without any sort of miracles. Looks very promising.

Excited? Look out Big Kev, I'm very excited! The more I look at the draw the more i realise how good it is for us. Seriously I think you could say we got one of the best draws this time round.

With this draw we should make the finals. Would be extremely dissapoint if we don't.

My prediction I made last August seems less silly now :D

essendon have been absolutely blesses

how have they been drawn to only play ONE of this years finalists is beyond me

only saving grace is that first three games look very tough, chance of being 0-3 before the golden run which may dent confidence

essendon have easily got the best draw football wise, no excuses next year

Bulldogs can't beat us, 1-2 at the worst, confident against Sydney even

collingwood have had some dream runs in previous years too, and next year your draw is only marginally worse than ours.

We're playing at the SCG? Ha ha ha. About time. I'm sick of waiting 30 minutes for a train from that other ******** hole.

Pretty Average draw for all the cashed up Corporate Groups and Coteries that consistently support the club with lots of $'s...not many Fri Nights to entertainment valuable guests....it's all important money to the club!

yeh the draws pretty bloody good except for the 14 night games, why do we always play so many night games its a joke its a day game isnt maybe 8or 9 night games but 14 again.i think if u look at the draw the last few years we played a lot of night games i reckon it has been a bit of a downfall for us not an excuse but yeh not good i reckon, but apart from that im happy...

Why do we play so many night games? Tv. Simple. It's the only bugbear I have of the "draw" as it limites the number of games I can take my kids to. Where does the AFL think tomorrows fans are going to come from if they can never go to the footy as kids?

Other than that it's a pretty damn good fixture.

Good draw.

I also like that's there is only 2 Saturday day games as I can't get to them.

From a spectators view, I like night games.

agree collingwood & essendon both get good runs regarding interstate travel because all of the melbourne teams wish to play a home game against both for economic benefits

in football terms tho i was of the belief that the teams finishing lower on the ladder played more teams from the bottom half of the ladder???

pies play four finalist twice next year,(granted port & kangas hopefully wont be much chop but still finalsits!)

essendon only play one finalist twice, ONE! dont know when that has happened before

good luck to the dons i spose

each to their own. As a bloke who works long hours during the day and often weekends the night games are all i can attend, so basically i say stuff the kids. ;)

which way do you go? help the bottom teams possibly improve by having them play the other bottom teams, or reward the finalists by letting them play the bottom sides

Heh. If only I could, they'd be a lot quieter. An even split isn't all that much to ask for though
