View Full Version : What Posistion Will Watts play Next Year?
Just Wondering since if he was still at the Crows he'd probably play from Round 1 next year and with daddy on the board this would be easier but I see your best forward line as
HF: Hamil Riedvwolt
FF: Kosi Gehrig Milne
And throw in another small.
Opinions?
I'd say you may see reiwoldt play more on the wing and maybe Gherig sometimes as a backman

Watts will play forward line, more towards up teh ground as he is a runner and a half forward, that allows Kosichitzke to play in the ruck more as we have another tall option, with Cain and kosi rucking that solves the issue....
Fraser at FF, and nick might be able to play out near the wing or closer to goal...
HF: Hamil, Reiwoldt,Watts/resting player
F: Milne, Gherig, Watts/resting player
This allows Cain and kosi to ruck, kosi can still rest up forward, and as a ruckman kosi can still kick 30 goals a season...
Also fergus can be used down back
Also fergus can be used down back
Maybe, but he hasn't played there. Keep it simple for the kid first up

I think you saints fans are all getting a littleover excited about young fergus. H ewll need to do a lot more before he actually makes your side, let alone commmands a spot in the first 18. I watched him a number of times in the sanfl and he didnt impress me a hell of a lot.
Reminds me of one of those players that everyone says will be good "once he puts some weight on" but never actually gains any weight...

Personally, I think he'll be playing Full Forward................. for Springy until he develops a little more and we start to get some injuries.

I agree, barring injuries fergus has to prove himself and will need to shine in pre-season games and NAB cup games. Hopefully he can have a injury free preseason

agree, with our forward line i think he will have to wait his time out at springy for most of 06, maybe ready to slot in for a role in 07 when the G has moved on. Won't be expecting too much from him next season

It will be a great shame if kosi doesnt play either CHF or FF soon, he would go close to being the best in the comp in either one. A deep forward role would suite him more most likely. Why he is being left in the ruck to get smashed to bits is a great shame, really poor coaching by GT. Better off putting watts there and let kosi go forward.

You have no idea do you? Kosi cannot play CHF, he is not mobile enough. He can play ruck or deep forward.
Get an idea before you sprout ignorant rubbish.
And tell me one game Kosi has been smashed in the ruck. Tell me one injury he has had from rucking?
Thought not. Tool

Bloody hell, Joffa, a little sensitive to mild criticism aren't we?
Outback jack simply thinks Kosi is more valuable playing closer to goal.
He hasn't exactly set the world on fire playing in the ruck has he? Certainly not towards the end of the year - because he was injured again wasn't he.

good work didnt see the reply. Unfortunately Joffa you have the most incompetent coach in the league who will make his career go to waste. Best thing that can happen is Gehrig to retire so kosi has to go there. How about drafting a tap ruckman too. Any other coach would of had kosi up forward two yrs ago. And he couldnt play a Riewoldt style CHF, but he could be a very dominant strong marking CHF the types that actually win games playing that 30-50 metre range from goals.

I agree we'd take him, if GT can make the connection to put kosi deep as well you're on a winner. Kosi can be anything in the forward line, not in the ruck though.
Hamill---Riewoldt-- Midfielder
Milne--- Gehrig ---Kosi
That would be unstoppable. Gehrig as the leading forward which he basically is despite his size anyway. And its not too tall either imo, milne hamill and a resting midfielder would provide enough to keep the ball in there. The third defender would have nightmares on kosi too. But you wont see it happening too much so dont worry. It will be back to the predictable Riewoldt CHF gehrig FF.
if watts goes there instead then you know who to thank.

Interesting how GT is such a bad cvoach but managed to smash your teams novice when it mattered.
So you spent all your time thinking up our forward line did you? Unfortunately you are so ignorant of the situation you haven't got a clue.
Kosi cant play CHF, too slow simple as that. His best position is as a mobile ruckman who rests down forward. Considering we have Gehrig, Hamill, Riewoldt, and now Watts as tall forwards, the Saints can afford to ruck Kosi with Ackland, and Brookes if he makes it, and rest him up forward.
The only reason another coach would have Kosi up forward is because they dont have the embarrassment of riches in the forward line the Saints have.
Oh and if you had a clue you would realise that Riewoldt rarely plays CHF as well. As far as predictable goes, yes you are correct, the Saints predictably scored more points in 2005 than any other team as they predicably did in 2004.
Mabye your team could become so predictable, unfortunately with that novice backstabber Craig in charge, you haven't got a hope in hell.

thats a poor post, in your own words, you have a embarrassment of riches, yet grant thomas is a good coach. Cant have it both ways.
Kosi isnt in the top 5 rucks in the league he is wasted there. Has the potential to be much more up forward. And he could quite easily play a deep CHF as i already said, not like riewoldt at all.

Why not? The two points are not inter-dependant.

sure they are, if you have a embarrassment of riches you expect an embarrassment of good results. Must mean the coach isnt getting the best out of them.

I think Watts will fill the role Guerra used to fill a bit, in the forward pocket.
HF: Hamill - Koschitzke - Riewoldt
FF: Watts - Gehrig - Milne
I'm looking forward to that :D

That might be a little top-heavy. ;)
Kosi will spend a bit of time in the ruck and Riewoldt might be pushed up the ground if Watts plays in the forward line. Another couple of injuries to our key defenders will mean we'll have to push at least one of those players black. Hopefully we get a better run with injuries. In any case we'll have the option to rotate our players to try and find the best balance.

very very very overrated footballer. He will get shoved around like no mans business. Imagine having that dweeb at CHF/FF against the like of cornes, michael (god i dread the thought), scarlett, presti, fletcher, croad etc. He will get eaten by those guys. Hit the gym with fraser fergus and come out when your ready, oh but daddy might give him a go
You've got such a fantastic team that I'm amazed you'd feel the need to discuss our dweeb-ridden, overrated team.
