Who really knows what happened on saturday against Joeys and Colac!? Seems like no-one does. Carson comes out and says it was a cheap shot, a king hit from behind play and the ball was at the other end of the ground! Greavesy then comes out and said it in complete contrast! Could be a hefty suspension coming up for the Joeys boy becasue the guy from Barwon Heads last year got 18 weeks for king hitting an Ammos guy and then this year Giles from Bannockburn got 8 weeks for similar situation... Anyone there for the inncident?

Not from down your way, but was wondering if the Carson you are talking about is Paul?? Used to play with Werribee Centrals as I remember. I know its a long shot...

Are Leopold a genuine chance of making the finals this year and if so, are they capble of doing any damage? Been following their results and notice the improvement. What has caused this? Apart from the fact that Browny and Cam Wright are guns and have returned.
Saw them against Newtown and i thought they were pretty good. Should make finals and once there could do some damage. Not to sure apart from the players you mentioned as to why they have improved so much. But i suspect they have recruited a few others .

Rick Wilde will be out for the rest of the year after he sustained a similar ankle injury to his previous one which kept him out for around 2 months at the start of the year.

Also the article in todays paper about Peter Riccardi thinking about playing local footy is clear. Has already signed to coach Geelong West-St Peters next year! Will attract some handy players due to him and ground renovations... Good signs for West...

Hilly, im siding with whispers here because im sick of the absolute shyte coming out of your mouth.

I was talking to one of the senior players from Newtown yesterday and he told me that Rick is out for the rest of the season!

this takes me back a few months to when i stated that Jay Bett wasn't playing for newtown this year and you replied that my mail was incorrect and you had the inside word at Newtown. geez u blokes could'v done with him this year!!

So basically Hilly, most people that view this thread think you're a tool and you must be a poor insignificant fool because rarely, if ever, do u have any correct mail from Newtown or the rest of the GFL.

Whispers, keep up the good work, most of what u say turns out to be correct! :thumbsu:

Since Hilly doesn't rate my posts, here is one for the local listeners... Queenscliff's Nick Albutt and James (I think) Walker from Newcomb will be playing for Blue West next year! Nick Daffy is still weighing up his options but could be a regular in the West outfit next year!

Also!!.... Can't say who but their will be a huge inclusion into the Lara reserves side tomoz.. I'm not being a tool when i talk up Lara ressies but this is big local news!

Hilly, not only do whispers and rocky significantly contribute to this thread on a regular basis, but their information and news usually is correct and reliable, and im afraid that ur posts continue to do the opposite, if ur not gunna post reliable and factual information on this thread, then dont bother posting at all, because it gets people like me (that live in NSW and relies on this site to keep up with my former local league)...

I'd like to change my claim about Nick Albutt... speaking to a good mate of his who plays at West and he said that he was keen to give the GFL a crack next year before the GDFL. Newtown looks like the likely club.

Anyone know if Rick Wilde played on the weekend?

in a massive loss for bell park young gun nick "hillshan" hill broke his collarbone in a freak accident against lara. this injury will see the youngster out for 6-8 weeks in a massive blow for bell parks seniors finals aspirations. i was speaking to him the other day and he hopes to be back for 2's finals as he can still qualify with some late reserves games...

Tommahawk_07- Did see the incident with Hilly from the dragons, was very unhappy with the spirit the Bell Park boys showed after the 'charge' the Lara player put on. It was very late and unfair. At least he might get some sympathy from the Room 99 bounces and or from a certain member of the Bell Park's social club's employee!:thumbsu:

Matty Bolton out for 10 for his hit on Carson! Sounds justified if he did it deliberately but I didnt like the fact that they had two biased colac supporters as witnesses... anyway! Earlier this year Giles from Banno got 8 weeks for a hit so 10 weeks for a hit that resulted in major damage could be looked apon as a 'fortuante' sentence.

giles got 8 weeks earlier in the year but there have been some real rough decisions in tribunal this year. i know i went in because a player from belmont lions elbowed me in the chin and it was very very slight contact and didnt hurt a bit but he still copped 3 weeks, even though one umpire sed it was on the right side and the other sed it was on left.
any rough decisions that anyone has seen

whispers, myself and c7 heaven had a look at that game and took great pleasure in watching a very spiteful first quarter from the sidelines. most of the action centred around #15 for st marys not sure of his name but he resembles luke hodge. there were spotfires everywhere but it was just good old fashioned footy and there wasnt much in any of it. no blood rules or anything but kane robertson managed to do his groin of all things in a fight! now that is unlucky. not much in the vassilou incident in the 3rd 1/4, was completely separate to any real melle just a little bit of shoving afterwards. he should get off, it was just clumsy. what do u mean about heritage training session? i dont understand?

There was an overweight 'stalker' Ablett, a heritage round special: 'peter walsh' in an old Melbourne jumper and the coach in an old lace up Bell Park jumper. Looked like the boys were enjoying themselves! By the look of them on the weekend they do need a boost and it might come from a couple of certain on-lookers who watched the first quarter last week. Hey hey hey Cam before we get the board moderators involved, i'll illustrate my reasons for not naming names. If i was to come out and release the name, it would prevent fine GFL journalists such as Jay Clark and dare I say Jack Grapsas from breaking a career changing article. I feel that a story of this magnitude must be handled by a professional such as the two previous mentioned. I do feel slightly guilty for not giving away specific details but i feel that if i do, an injustice will be done.

P.S. Questions about lack of plums should instead of being addressed to me, could maybe be sent the way of a certain AFL team that was beaten by a team with a player that even Matt McCarthy managed to kick 5 goals on.

Well it should be! Big names lure other big players! Most likely a few ex-Geelong players in the future may head down to West. The ground is looking good due to the developments that are taking place which is yet another improvement. The scoop is that Talbot will be round 2007. A big preseason include perhaps the odd haircut or two will see him continue to be the most formidable and skilled player in the GFL. BAR NONE!

Take this on face value but word is a certain Geelong rookie who may not retain his place on the list at the Cattery could be seen as potential coaching material around the local traps. The young lad already has showed on field leadership at VFL level and a trip to the lofty heights of the GFL may not be out of the question. The crazy thing about the situation is that he may be giving his spot up on the list to his younger brother. Talk about irony.

With the talk of Ricco moving to Red West perhaps some teammates will follow. I'll throw these names up:

McCarthy
N. Ablett
Lonergan
Kingsley (A melbourne club offering him three years my ass)
Spinks
Mitchell White
Cameron Roberts

With a forward line built around these names you may see a mass exodus of GFL players to the other leagues in fear.

Stay tuned

That is fantastic Young Pres! You are a gun...

I think Shezz has already been pencilled in to play for Bell Park next year which will be a great attribute to the club both on and off the field (due to his experience and leadership) plus he brings loyalty to the club! Good to see!

Would love to see Spinks and Cameron Roberts play for West next year! Through in Ezra Bray amongst that mix and they could cause some chaos!

But what will make Bell Park a powerhouse again? Will they rely on the downfall of other clubs? Recruit more players or just train harder and build team spirit. Speaking to one of the BP boys on the weekend and he said it was the first time they played like a team all year.. thats a bit of a worry when there is only 3 games to go.... hence the un-ideal ladder position.

These players your talking about are James Allen and Michael Sleeman? I've heard that they may make a return but there is a big name player who they are chasing. I don't know anything about the player but apparently they are big! Regarding facilities, they are creating new changerooms/gym and they are assessing redevelopment of the oval. Maybe change it from summer to winter cooch. Who knows!

Who knows! The name of Cameron Roberts is mentioned above as possible ins into the league nxt yr !?......where has he been since his time at sturt in the sanfl !? i know he copped a horrific injury while at sturt, has he played since !?

Is good for Forbsey and Geelong. Has played a bit this year in their VFL team and has kicked a few goals (one in particular that got Phil Cleary moist). Due to Geelong's lack of injuries, Forbesy hasn't had much oppotunity to play but obviously he has done enough to attract the attention of Geelong. Also Tomma, where you refering to Sherringham or someone else. Speaking to Joeys Pres. Shane Murphy and he said that Sam Hunt old man is keen on Sam returning to Joeys one day. Could be a direct swap....

Has had a sh*tty season this year with injury but is probably too old to have another crack at AFL. Big boy however and would slot nicely down back for Joeys I'd reckon. Also I heard that Torquay's Ben Raidme maybe heading over to Sth Australia and have a kick in the SANFL. Bit like what Reece Woods did this year....

NORTH Shore prez Gordon Hynes was a special guest on ABC radio Sat. morning. That was on the Coodabeen Champions program.
I didn't know at one stage during his Seagull coaching days Hynesy had actually been invited to apply for the Geelong AFL senior coaching position, so he did knowing he was a real outsider for the role.
Ex Sydney Swannie Chapman is the coach at North Shore now, I believe.

BFL Finals start this week, will be interesting to see what happens. Barwon Heads are starting to get injured/suspended players back and i reckon they can beat Ammos. Saw Heads play Anglesea last week and Plowman dominated, with Kershaw back their forward line will be potent.

Heads should beat Ammos, will be a good game though...
Torquay will knock the Grove out leaving only their ressies, to continue in the finals

AMMOS will be missing Lindsay Smith for the rest of the season with a broken collarbone sustained ina motorbike accident, also for this weekend they will be without star forward Sam Clark who has a groin injury. Ammos without their 2 best players it will make it tough for them as they have a few other injuries as well.

The Grove and Torquay game will be a cracker a few old ballarat league players in both sides looking to settle some old scores should be a very physical encounter might worth the drive down to portarlington. My tip the Grove by 19 points Sproule will be the difference if he plays apparently very doubtful.........

I'd love to say yes Tomma, but i can't for certain. When the big matches are on though i'd have a C7 bloke in the team. His form has been good on Saturday nights of late, i am now hoping he can carry them into Saturday afternoons. Wishful thinking? Im not sure, we will see...

After reading the article in the almighty Addy today by Jay Clark, who will claim the last two positions in the top 5? I reckon Leopold are already pencilled in with the run home they have so realistically its the last possie... Bell Park (to play St. Albans and North Shore) would be favourite for the last possie over Mary's (Lara and South Barwon). North Shore to beat Colac and Bell Park is too big of an ask...

If the dragons do make the finals does anybody really think they will have an impact. With the so called 'softest player to ever pull a bell park jumper on' (not sure why that was said, but i suspect some similar charachterisitics to what Jost Hunt displayed last weekend) getting a game can they really push the powerhouses like South Barown.

If they are to go past the 1st week of the finals i would have thought some of the key members of the team need to gel together a little better and play for the team, and not for thier pay packets.
