Few familiar names there, Wonder if Jason Lappin would still be in the big time if he didn't bust his leg as a youngster at the Bulldogs?

Thats where he got drafted to the Swans from - his folks Baz and Marls are still there, not sure if brothers Trent and Matty took up footy or played rugby league.

Craig Ednie 26!! Daniel McAlister in the 40's! Were these blokes injured this year? Jon McCormack would have gone close to the league medal had he not done his knee..did well to get into the top 10, would have thought that Ednie would have been in the same class as him...

Played Dederang 2s earlier in the season.

Craig would have been higher if he played the whole year.
Returned from Strathmore 5-6 games into the year, but with a full pre-season and settled back at Yarra he is my early tip for the Morris Medal along with Jon McCormick.
"Hoppa" is a gun and picked up 18 votes in the first half of the season _ amazing effort.
I enjoyed the list and pretty well spot on.
McAlister has all the talent in the world, but can't string four quarters of a solid footy together.
He would be a superstar in this comp if he did.

Aydan Brown plays for north albury, but anyway. I wouldve thought that Haynes for wang wouldve been a worthy mention in the top 50, and adam butler was a bit stiff not to be higher.

Don't think so. I believe he made Carlton's rookie list after playing for the Bushrangers, and eventually made it to the senior list and played some really good games for the blues. Very stiff to get delisted - esp when you consider some of the blokes they've kept there. Then I think he went straight back home to Wang?

Think you might have to re-evaluate Johnny Hoppers chances, the big fella is still up in the air about playing and is recovering from a knee reco. At best, I would imagine he'd be back around round 5-6. Thought there must have been a reason why Ednie was so far down the list, gun player. I guess you summed up why McAlister got the boot from AFL.

Had a relative I think playing up Wangaratta way - Damian Lang, how does he go these days?
I'm a wrap for Lang, he's a top player but didn't stand out as much this year with less reliance on him to kick all the goals. In fact, since you asked, I checked out his ranking and was extremely surprised to see him ranked No.219 with just 4 points.
Craig Ednie 26!! Daniel McAlister in the 40's! Were these blokes injured this year? Jon McCormack would have gone close to the league medal had he not done his knee..did well to get into the top 10, would have thought that Ednie would have been in the same class as him...
Ednie only played half the season, which affected his ability to score points, and as harsh but fair said in another post, McAlister is inconsistent. Players are not ranked to due their ability or what they've done in the past, it is solely based on what they did this year, with points awarded for appearances in best, Morris Medal votes and OAKFM votes.
Ednie scored 51 best points, 19 OAK votes but only 3 Morris Medal votes.
McAlister scored 45 best points, 12 OAK votes and 1 Morris Medal vote.
Josh Frawley would be closer to the bottom 30 than the top 30.
Played Dederang 2s earlier in the season.
Again, a surprise to see him so far up there on only half a season, but from all figures, he took a league lacking ruckmen by storm. Maybe Dederang-Mt Beauty underrated him?
Frawley scored 35 best points, 15 OAK votes and 7 Morris Medal votes.
I think you might need to change your Big Footy name mate.
Can you do that? Would love to update if it is possible.

I'll take that likeness - Hayse so low surprised me, McIntyre I think was the most improved ruck in the comp in a grand final team and Henry again took less limelight in a better team than previous years.
Aydan Brown plays for north albury, but anyway. I wouldve thought that Haynes for wang wouldve been a worthy mention in the top 50, and adam butler was a bit stiff not to be higher.
Just making sure you're awake ;)
Hayse scored 18 best points, 5 OAK votes and 0 Morris Medal votes.
Butler scored 46 best points, 11 OAK votes and 3 Morris Medal votes.

No.1 picks: Six wins, two seconds and a third. I'll take that any day of the week.
The only No.1 missing from the top three was Jason Wild (Yarrawonga) - anyone know where he finished?
No.2 pics: Three wins, two seconds, two thirds.
The only surprises from me are Wild's non appearance, Butler coming from Lavington's No.6 ranking to win and Luke Heyme's third place at Albury from the No.13 ranking - he is the only non top 6 to place in the club count.
I'll take this as another big tick for the system.
