Selwood could be a Pie
07 October 2005 Herald Sun
PROMISING Brisbane Lions youngster Troy Selwood looks headed for Collingwood, possibly in the pre-season draft.
2006 fixture, team draw
Club-by-club highlights
Selwood met the Magpies yesterday after he knocked back an offer from Adelaide, which had courted him strongly since his name was floated by the Lions during Monday's trade briefing at Optus Oval.
Selwood flew to Adelaide to meet coach Neil Craig earlier in the week but the former Bendigo boy seems likely to return to Victoria.
However, Selwood's manager Tom Petroro, from Flying Start, also hinted that a new deal with the Lions was not out of the question.
"There is a good chance (of Selwood remaining with Brisbane)," Petroro said. "Troy is a very loyal sort of a kid and no one wants to leave their original club but there are still a few things to work out."
Another Lion on the move is ruckman Dylan McLaren, who is set to join St Kilda in exchange for a second or third-round draft pick.
