View Full Version : Voting for One Nation?

I was just wondering why people consider that they'll vote for One Nation in the upcoming election?

I'm not having a go at anyone intending to vote One Nation in the election, I respect your right to vote for whoever you wish to vote for, and will not offer any judgment on your political beliefs or reasons.

I was just wondering what's your motive behind your decision to vote for them?
You don't like Australia's current political environment and are using the vote to show your dislike of Australia's current political environment?
You believe that One Nation can make a contribution to Australia?
You follow One Nation's ideals?
Other reasons?

I repeat I don't want this to be a flaming thread and I for one am not going to judge or criticise you for your political beliefs. I was just interested to hear your reasons for voting for them. I can understand if no one wants to reply since you're voting intention is purely your choice and I have no worries if you don't wish to state your voting intentions and reasons for them.

For what it's worth, I'll be voting for Labor in the upcoming election. I don't totally agree with all their policies and personally don't believe that Kim Beazley is the strongest leader around, but I'd prefer to have the Labor party as the next Government rather than the Liberals, since I believe that the Labor party does more to help out those less advantaged in our society than the Liberal party, and that is a big factor for me these days when it comes to voting.

But this is just my opinion and you're welcome to (and trust that many of you will) disagree. Anyway, my electorate is one of the (if not the) safest Liberal seat in the country so my vote in a local context will be a protest vote more than anything else anyway! :p

Blood Stained Angel. New Zealand had a similar party called New Zealand First a few years ago didn't they ?.

But, the star of One Nation has faded and John Howard has shamelessly taken on board some of their policies of late, making them an irrelevance.

For the most part, those 1 Million votes were made by people who are tired of the two-party system.
