Probably won't mean buggerall, but I thought I'd have a look at who's been taken from 94-04 in our draft spots this year.

15 -
Scott Camporeale
Darren Wheildon
Max Hudghton
Joel McKay
Brady Rawlings
David Spriggs
Simon Wiggins
Barry Brooks
Nick Smith
Troy Chaplin
Lynden Dunn

Not a lot to get excited about there, Camporeale a good durable player, Hudghton reliable defender, Rawlings honest tagger. Meh.

31 -
Allen Nash
Andrew Ukovic
Jess Sinclair
Simon Black
Gary Dhurrkay
Paul Chapman
Blake Campbell
Joel Reynolds
Joel Perry
Joshua Krueger
Jarred Moore

Two real gems in Black and Chapman, not much else there.

35 -
Marty Warry
Brad Smith
Mark Chaffey
Marcus Baldwin
Brad Oborne
Patrick Wiggins
Alan Murray
Jarrad Wright
Scott Bassett
Brent Hall
Fabian Deluca

When Mark Chaffey is the best at anything football related you know the rest aren't any good.

47 -
Robert Ahmat
Brent Harvey
Brett Montgomery
Robert Stevenson
Nicholas Lowther
Corey Enright
Jordon Bannister
Andrew Welsh
Billy Nicholls
Andrew Ericksen
David Spriggs

Harvey, Montgomery, Enright and Welsh the obvious standouts. Spriggsy ahoy!

63 -
Ross Funcke
Jacob Anstey
Jason Baldwin
Anthony Aloi
Clint Kirey
Shannon O'Brien
Marc Bullen
Adam Houlihan
Brett Doswell
Glen Bowyer
James Gwilt

Dud city, with the possible exception of Gwilt who's yet to prove himself and Bullen at a pinch.

Joel McKay now there was an absolute champion....... what a waste of a pick for us... him and Spriggs

Houlihan at 63 was the Tiges, we picked him up in a pre draft compensation for Andrew Wills/Fremantle.

If Gwilt can put in performances like he did in that first final then that is one of the greatest pickups.

When you look back and read over the past drafts you realise how many don't make it, there are a lot that you have never ever heard of.

A couple of kids picked last year are still works in progress. Dunn and Moore while Chaplin has just started to show something
Generally though one can assess that picks in themselves give nothing, a lot depends on the clubs ability to work with the picks and its in this area we excell
When we started put more effort into development we had success with picks like Enright and Chapman , while earlier we lost out with picks like McKay when Ayres was in charge.

Im confident that we give all our picks maximum imput and therefore we will have a couple of good players from P15,31,35 by 08

I reckon Chaplin will be a good footballer!
