Sorry if it's been discussed elsewhere, but what is the status of Shannon Motlop? I assume he's not contracted for 2006 and some supporters of his SANFL club swear he is returning there next year to be with his brother. I find it hard to believe Melbourne would let him go after his Round 22 match against Essendon.

I believe that he has re-signed with the club for a couple of years. With a full AFL pre-season under his belt he'll only get better.

His VFL goal in the final quarter alone deserved a new contract.

Was handy at times this year and with a full pre-season under the belt (this is going to sound like a cliche` but it's true) he should be better for it.

As with Holland, I'd keep him for another couple of years.

In a couple of years time, Holland would struggle to outrun my late nana, bless her soul.
If Holland does stay, a one year deal is plenty. He tries hard, but he isn't premiership material. Too slow, not mobile enough and struggles to kick goals from 15m directly infront.
Love his attitude, but he is cringe-worthy to watch.
As for Motlop, I hope he continue to improve and builds up his engine again. He could be quite handy, especially if we decide to play Pickett on the half-back line, and we can use Motlop in the forward pocket.

Yze is going to be a permanent FP I reckon with younger midfielders taking his place.

I would like to see him and Green rotate from the wing/forward pocket. Both can play both roles, but Yze is a natural midfielder and Green is a natural forward. I think most of us agree that Yze had an ordinary season. He went missing often and was very inconsistant. But he still kicked 40 goals which was more than handy. So if he can become a bit more consistant and Green can spend more time up forward, look out.
