Not anymore.

I see where they are coming from.
But, a bit rash, I think.
Forums on the Internet are always going to have issues - they are never going to be perfect.

Reakon this site would have shut down about three years ago if it was run by the same mods.
Though the constant harping about censorship was starting to wear a little thin.

What, BigFooty?
Definately :)
Maybe "SANFL Talk" and "General Talk" on FootySA would be good.
I think the talk of legal action is over the top. At least for the owners of the site anyway.

true, spell check was getting annoying...

Wasn't spell check - was others.
From what I saw SC was just being sarcastic about it .... because he didn't like the censoring.
A few posters now appearing on "The Roost". Shame for the SANFL, precious little promotion elsewhere.

I don't think they're being particularly over-reactive when it comes to the possibility of litigation.
They haven't got the money - or resources - of a site like this one. If somebody decided to sue them, they would be in deep sh.t.
I reckon a lot of these forum websites are a time bomb waiting to go off. The potential for being sued is huge.

I think it is over-reactive.
But still - I'd like to know where they do and don't stand.

A good idea.
Perhaps something on the home page.
Because nobody really knows what they can and can't say.

Can't post comments on there anymore.
The mods took them all down because of a number of (what they considered) inappropriate posts.
Stems from a fear of litigation.
Though they just might have got jack of all bagging they've copped recently.
Which has increased somewhat.

I used to post on FootySA quite frequently during the last 2 or 3 years, but I haven't viewed the site in about 2 months. What has occured during this time?

I am trying to get something arranged here on bigfooty. Footysa was good but the forum setup is much better here. The sanfl needs its own board on here and hopefully it will be happening.

The SANFL doesnt need its own board here. It was basically an SANFL board plus a couple of country leagues up until this year when all the SANFL supporters seemed to migrate to FootySA full time.
Good luck Wedgie if you decided to create a new SANFL site, ill support it 100%

A sub-board idea has merit if the existing avenue for SANFL discussion is no longer available. I'll talk with the other mods about it.
Failing that does anyone have a good proposal for a BigFooty-powered SANFL site?

There we go - SANFL board. We can expand it or incorporate it in to a full SANFL site in the future if we want. Anything is possible, but now its up it won't be going anywhere.

yeah but him going on about the censoring was just getting repetitive but he is normally ok....it was mostly stupid trolls...if they come back, they just need to ban ppl who dont talk football most of the time...there were at least 5 on their that just trolled, they need to be banned asap

The problem is/was PHP Nuke - the forum is bad, really.
I don't see a problem with FootySA staying where it is, with phpBB used, or something easy to install like that. Far easier to moderate - harder to ******** around on.
Simple, I say. ********, I would do it myself.

Reakon it's not really worth having without a forum.

Hi everyone, it's spell_check making my first post here. Yes Jimmy, I did go over the top with it, I apologise for that; I was a bit angry that I appeared to be nothing but one of those trolls making their mark. This was despite me thinking that the question was ok to ask; being one made out of curiousity. But I've gone over that enough, and it's in the past now. Btw, you can post on FootySA now, the posts don't appear until they have been looked at by the crew.
The website that I mentioned earlier POWER AND PROUD has a SANFL forum on it where anyone can get on and post topics about their favourite team. The website is not dedicated specifically for Port supporters. Go and have a look and Im sure that you would be impressed. It hasnt been going for long and is attracting more and more people to it all the time. The responses about it have been nothing but positive.
You would like the actual website address just pm either myself or troy wingate.

That would be fantastic - an SANFL site connected to here. :)

Only in a moderated forum, can take until the next day before a post comes up depending on when you post, some usernames still aren't working.
Live forums up and running a treat at www.sanflfooty.com, the way the site has taken off has exceeded most expectations, hopefully a footysa/sanflfooty merger will be on the cards as they compliment each other beautifully.
