Watched this film last night for the first time and was entertained from start to finish.
What are everyones opinions on it?

Saw it a little while ago but I wasn't terribly impressed and felt it was overrated.
Good performances I suppose but I reckon it was overly sympathetic to the main character, a bit too obvious. Like she was "society's monster" (which was obviously the producer's point).

Exactly my thoughts - an irresponsible and (overtly) manipulative film.
Charlize Theron was brilliant as Aileen Wuornos.
But the film really seemed intent on portraying her as a victim.
When clearly she wasn't.
She was cold-blooded serial killer.
As the families of her seven victims would attest.

Bang on...a *very* sympathetic portrayal of events. That being said, Theron's performance was astounding....made by pro-Charlize man-slug crawl back up inside in horror.
The way I saw it, they showed how she was a real person, and how she got to that stage; this however was contrasted with the despicable things she did. I remember saying out loud "man, you really didn't need to do that".
