I did catch part of the Fabian Francis interview today on KG and Cornsey's show, it appears that Flash may have thought again about his decision to leave the club.

I only caught part of the interview so don't quote me, perhaps someone else can add a bit more to this.

It sounds like Fabian was a little disappointed to find out that Adelaides interest wasn't as great as he thought. While he still wants to play AFL football it appears that he doesn't really want to go interstate so his only choice maybe to stay and take what Port offers him.

It will be interesting to see if Fabian now tries to come to terms with the club by October 31 or tries his luck in the Pre-Season draft hoping either one of the two Adelaide clubs pick him up.

The problem may arise for Fabian that the club reduces his pay anyway because of his disinterest at staying with the club anyway, I think this would be further reduced should Port decide to pick him up in the Pre-Season Draft.

It also now appears that there was a difference in opinions between Francis and Williams, going against what was first said by the two.

hmmm, interesting. He can get fuked for all i care...he dont want to play with us...no because Adelaide have no interest in him he has a change of heart?? Maybe Fabian had an over inflated opinion of himself and his status in the league...maybe he thought clubs would be falling over each other to get at him.

If he does stay - there is no bloody way he will get any support from me

He'll get my support....this would be about as big a kick in the arse that I thought he'd need to get back on track for next season. If Port play this right.....could see a re-motivated Fabian

Also, if Port picked him up again in preseason draft....then they'd still have to pay the minimum salary that he nominates

an interesting situation for Flash

Say he wants $300,000p.a. for a 2 year deal at Port and Port only offer him $250,000 for a 1 year contract.

He says he will go elsewhere....ok....that's life.

Then he goes to the crows and other clubs and they say nah....$250,000 or even $200,000 is about all he is worth.

So...

a) go back to Port and accept $250,000.

b) put yourself in the draft....and name which price ? $300,000 ?....$200,000 ?

If I were he and he wants to stay in Adelaide and the crows will not match Port's offer then swallow your pride and go back. I would support him....players come and go and then come back all the time....in today's game it is no big deal.

I'll support him if he stays/comes back. It will be an interesting financial decision he will need to make, though, if Port don't give him near what he wants.

Latest I heard was that he will be at Essendon next year. Surely we would be able to offer him a better deal than them, with their much-publicised salary probs.

if they did get him it makes the Hardwick trade look less of a coup.
