If anyone is interested some of the betting outlets are offering McGarth v Lee most 1st innings wkts head to head... McGarth is a whopping $1.80 juicy odds considering he always gets first crack at the tail. :D

Batting hd to hd Katich v Chand'Paul & Chand'Paul is the roughie at $1.92  VALUE! :thumbsu:

Bravo the roughie against Best most wkts... Best seems rubbish... value on in-form Bravo.

Happy punting & to all my followers use some of that Makybe Diva winnings.

& no Australia are not value.. imo there batting lineup doesn't look as strong with Katich at 5, Martyn and Langer missing. Watson out of form and Clarke under pressure.

West Indies would be the value if anything they have a good batting lineup.

Over $8.00 in a 2 horse race are superb odds

As for Bravo, no guarantee he will even play, so no value there

Why wouldn't he play?

Why wouldn't he play?
Because they have better bowlers

Why wouldn't he play?

Depends on what they decide in the morning. If Powell is right and they want to gamble on Lawson, Bravo won't play.

If Powell is injured, they will gamble on Lawson and Bravo will play.

If Powell is not injured, they might not gamble on Lawson and play Bravo.

One of those 3 players won't play. Which one, we won't know till morning.

You do know that Bravo is the all-rounder right?

He also did alright against Qld.

Yes, but the Windies already have the advantage in the batting department, so they may as well go the 4 pure bowlers to bowl Australia out cheaply

W.I side will be:
Gayle
Smith
Sarwan
Lara
Chand'Paul
Samuels
Bravo
Ramdin
Edwards
Collymore/Best/Powell (2 of these 3 will play) depending on Powell's injury.

Bravo will play regardless

He knows that.

The question which boils down to is this.

Do they want an extra batter?

Or do they want to have a full time bowler who can take more wickets than what Bravo can?

If I was in Windies shoes, I'd play the pace attack of Lawson, Collymore, Edwards and Powell. They need 20 wickets to win the test match and their batting goes down to 9 as Collymore and Powell can bat.

All said and done putting on a high score, but you need to be able to take the wickets to defend that score. And I think it's more important to take wickets.

Plus going in with 4 bowlers can be used as backup incase one of them goes down with an injury - they still have 3 fast bowlers fit.

It's going to be an interesting selection tomorrow. Personally, I don't think Bravo should play the first test.

Attack Australia with the ball.

No offence mate but you don't know anything about West Indian cricket. If Best plays, they may aswell not even try. Best bowls rubbish and he can't concentrate and he shouldn't even be on tour.

Also, Best was not selected in the 12 earlier in the week.

1. Gayle
2. Smith
3. Sarwan
4. Lara
5. Samuels
6. Chanderpaul
7. Ramdin
8. Bravo/Powell
9. Collymore
10. Lawson
11. Edwards

They will gamble on Lawson. Lawson and Edwards will open the bowling and attack Australia with everything they've got.

I think you'll find my original list was correct, except Edwards for Best... not sure why Best was in a market then... oh well, bet void.

A roughie at $1.92, if thats a roughie i'd hate to see what the fav. is paying.
A roughie at less than $2 is no value at all.
