Alwyn Davey, the younger brother of electrifying Melbourne speedster Aaron, is set to start pre-season training with the Demons in the hope of being selected by an AFL club in the upcoming drafts.
The 21-year-old played for South Adelaide in the SANFL this year, but watched on at Melbourne's training session at Sandringham on Friday.
He joined his older brother Aaron - who also sat on the sidelines at the Trevor Barker Oval - as he was given extra time off after he shone for Australia in the recent International Rules Series. Aaron spoke of Alwyn joining Melbourne for pre-season training.
"He's down (and going to be training with us) and he played last year with South Adelaide after playing the whole year in the seniors, so hopefully he can just come out and have a train and have a few other clubs have a look at him (as well)," Aaron Davey said.
"He's got the ability to do it and he's got the pace and he's got the same style of game I have, but he's played more on a wing.
"I just hope that he comes out here and gives it his best and hopefully it goes well and if it's not at Melbourne, then hopefully another AFL club."
Love the second last paragraph, anything near what Aarons got is good enough for our club, sign him up quick.
