Might lack a bit of leg speed on the bench so could probably bring in Byrnes or Tenace for Egan as the backline talls are pretty set. Would also like to see N.Ablett in the best 22, most likely if Playfair does not regian the form of early this year.

What are u laughing at? You put Wojcinski in the emergencies - thats probly worse than Gardiner ahead of Ablett and Egan (maybe not - but still - what are u thinking Wojcinski is in our 18!!!)

Monica has just suffered one of the most serious injuries in football. He has to proove he is still capable of playing to the high standards he has previously set. This time last year, you are 100% correct, he would be in the starting 18 and more than likely within our top 10-15 players, however IMO he may struggle slightly during the first half of the season to get his position back in the team.

I hope i am wrong because he is a huge assett to our team and is an exciting player with his run through the back line and his penetrating kick. I hope he is back to his best.

Wojcisnki has been running since he returned from overseas in early September, i dont care what doubts ppl have Bomba will be playing in round 1 i grant u all that!!!

The training singlet indicates that he is getting plently of match fitness...

Then again, no-one has it at this time of the year so you might be right.

It's just my opinion, as i said, hopefully i am wrong!

Nah mate i wish, but from what he tells me they had a ball over there. As for match fitness, when the other players were given a few weeks off after the season - he trained right through, and the past 2 yrs in the gym have worked wonder for him - hence the above picture.

I dont give my word often - but when I do its generally correct - Bomba will be in our round 1 team!!!

Good luck to the selection committee. All of our teams have a 20 man core and it's the last couple we differ on.

Egan is just about my fave player but it's only so often you play a team with 4 unco tall forwards (hello WC) that allows you to play Scarlett, Harley, Mooney and Egan all in the back 6 at once. I've given DJ some flaming in the past but the way he started off the year he will be a good replacement for Sando in the back six and leaves the D line a lot more balanced. There are always going to be 3-4 out injured so the 4 listed as emergencies will play a lot of games.

i know Egan should be in the team but i just could not put him in front of any one, he should be in front of N Ablett but you cant leave an Ablett out of your best 22 also think Callen will have a big year and push for selection, may take sandos spot?

i think realistically you cant expect nathan to play 20 odd games next year when he had to miss this years final match cause of some type sawness after 3 or 4 games...

What's his pace like? Is he running at full pace or only 50-70%? That's his biggest asset and he's gonna need it to get a spot round 1. I guess Kelly took just over a year to get back to 100% after his broken leg and he's a couple of years younger, so Bomba should be a chance to be full pace by round 1.

I'm hoping Prismall and at least one of McCarthy and Lonergan will step up and be in the running for a spot. Spencer and Blake will probably get some game time at some stage as well, but will need to step up to make the grade.
