No changes here, other than have Corrie starting in the forward pocket, and Voss starting in the center, then interchanging Voss between Hadley and Corrie.

Can't argue with the general structure of that lineup.
However, on demonstrated form, Merrett would not make my starting side and would be lucky to even make the interchange.
I'd have Sherman in the pocket and leave Merrett out altogether which also solves the interchange problem...... in that way, you're left with MacDonald, Corrie Copeland and Notting as the 4 man I/C.
Notting has his critics (not totally unjustified either) but he's surely worth at least an interchange spot as he's performed on the whole, very well in this role over a number of years.
Also:
Brown, Bradshaw and Brennan are undeniably our best three forward talls.
Don't you think playing Merrett (another tall) would make the forward line top heavy?
That's another reason I'd "balance out" the forward structure with Sherman (interchanging with Corrie) so we end up with a better mix of talls, smalls and crumbers.
....and another thing (I'm making this up as I go along) ;)
.....how on earth is a forward half with Brown, Bradshaw, Brennan and Merrett going to exert enough pressure on the opposition's running half backs to actually keep the ball in our scoring area if............correction....when the pill goes to ground?????
None of them are renowned for their ability to chase down running defenders.
I suggest that sides like the Bulldogs (who have speedy running defenders) would make mincemeat out of a top heavy forward structure with 4 talls.
When we a feared triple Premiership side, one of the hallmarks of our game was to lock the ball in the scoring zone for sustained periods of time and we did this by having the services of players of the ilk of S.Hart and C.McRae.
That's another reason we have to develop and play smaller players like Corrie, Sherman and whoever else we have at our disposal and teach them the virtues of applying defensive pressure in the scoring zone. :thumbsu:

We could show them a few tapes of Lovett and Davey in the IR series... should be pretty good inspiration!
I still think we need to persevere with Merrett in the team. People tend to forget he's only been playing AFL for a few years... I think (hope!) he will come good in time. Ideally I'd like to develop him up to give us a bit more flexibility: we could release Braddy to defence as cover for Leppa, or even throw Browny into the midfield if we need some more muscle in there during a game. Plus you can never really count on Brennan being/staying fit...
Prob wont matter, but outsiders opinion...
B: Notting Michael Johnson
HB: Lappin Leppitsch Adcock
C: Akermanis Black Hadley
HF: Brennan Brown McGrath
F: Corrie Bradshaw Voss
R: Charman Power Selwood
I: Keating, Sherman, Drummond, Copeland

Thats a good try mate but Notting should never play in the backline ever! The man couldnt fight his way out of a wet cardboard box! and you need skill and fight to play in the backline
Drummond should swap possitions with Possum

I reckon Chris Johnson should move back to the forward line. Drummond and Adcock should be in the pockets regularly. Keating and Charman should rotate and if necessary, any of them can play in the forward line.

Is everyone just basing their team on everyone elses?
No one rates (and I'm loathe to mention the name) Joel MacDonald, Chris or Brad Scott? I'm not saying they'd necessarily be in my best 22 - just playing devil's advocate....
As much as I love the bloke, Copeland didn't do any more than those three this year, yet he's in a few people's starting 18.

I agree that Drummo should be in a back pocket before Notting but a move to the backline might be what is required to remove some of the frustrating parts of Notting's game. It might force Notting to man up and play the percentages a bit better.

He has the running capacity but for the reasons stated above, he wasn't in my squad. I wouldn't mind having Chris in the forward line but what was the use of keeping Brad? He looks closer to retirement than Chris. I can actually see Chris playing around more two seasons but I'd stick with Selwood and Sherman than to have Brad in the squad.
In regards to Copeland, he has been a decent player in the last few years and he has more impressive than what Joel has ever been. Copeland had a rough year last with his elbow and his temper but if you compare Copeland and MacDonald at their best, I'd take Copeland any day. Copeland is also a lot younger than the Scott twins, so it would be better to stick with him.
