This is my love of Akalon appreciation thread. Moderators deleting it risk breaking my heard and seeingme cry. I need to heap some praise
During my extended 2+ years stay OS i was worried about what a lack of football may do to me.
Would I miss football? Yes
How much? Lots
Could I afford drastic measures to get AFL in the US? Probably
Was it difficult and out of my hands? Yes
Would i got postal and kill a bunch of innocents without AFL? YES YES YES

So far we have downloaded EXCELLENT copies of the international rules series and also the Melbourne Cup. The quality is awesome almost upto TV standard and it is quick and easy and FREE. What a champion. A donation will be given to the site to help persuade them that all Geelong games should be ripped and shared as they are the GREATEST TEAM OF ALL.
So Akalon - many thanks, I owe you many beers, you are a genius and here is your own thread.

I've often wondered how a torrent site for AFL would go.
Awesome, I did a search for Geelong on Torrentspy earlier this year and came up with two games, Geelong vs. Melb and Geelong vs. West Coast.

Yep, I just paid to a member. Will help by posting the the NHL, wicked sport, and the NFL (SO BORING) and any of the other american sports. Hopefully next year I can make some friends and make sure I dont miss a game. Fly back from Boston for the GF to watch us take it out!!!

Yeah, seed whatever you can - maybe the Melbourne Cup one. I just got set up yesterday and nothing was downloading. I guess things will get busier when footy season gets going.

Oops sorry i deleted the Melb cup yesterday. I still have both the International Rules games. 47 minutes into the second one...ANGRY BOY CHRIS JOHNSON!!!
I have to delete some stuff as I am still on the road and using a work laptop. Only has a 40gb HDD so I am filling it up very quickly, only had about 2GB left on the weekend, so i did a big clean. Next year though i will keep all the games I download and try and get one of the moderators to start a sticky, I will then reseed on request.
Hope all you great cat supporters over in the US are supporting our Benny Boy, really missing him down at catland but hope he succeeds for the Jets.

I find it hard to sit through that BULL******** "sport" just to watch him punt. Did the other day though, saw him kick twice, one alright the other was WACK

I actually don't mind watching the NFL now - I suppose it's a substitute for footy and cricket! I haven't seen Benny play for a while now, though.

I know this may sound funny now, but can anybody please get me an invite into AussieTorrents? My account has been banned. :o I hadn't used the site (nor BigFooty) in a number of months due to poor health and despite enjoying the great win over the doggies at TD I'd love to see it again. :)

This thread is very nice, however i find it alarming that others have not known about AussieTorrents for longer.
It really is a great site. I've downloaded geelong game is year except the Collingwood and Hawthorn Games and one more that was not uploaded to ausstorrents.
Usually mininova or torrentspy will have the missing links though...

when you download the games why not burn them onto dvd ? that way you wont take up any hd space. Seems logical I know
