Who are you reffering to?
Was wondering who the vic reps and the interleaguers were in the u/15s and where they played in 2005.
Just asking a question & No I don't know the answer.

Wouldnt be suprised if james burke played in the bendigo league this year..James is a prety good player as well would be good in a league like the bendigo one!
Yer both the Burkes are on board at South and with those two along with Dayne Frew and Marty Shadbolt the Bloods will be quite strong up forward.
Just had a look at Flat write on up on the new Coach John Rombotis posted on their webpage and it said he coached Roxburgh to an impressive 6 victories in his first season there!!
Anyway hopefully he is a good pick up for the Flat.

Cant get hold of an Addy , my mail was Rombotis to coach , Marty Warry assistant and Ty Zantuck to play if he doesnt go to the Bullant's , great news for the Flat and the BFL if this is true . No doubt we will be hearing from our old mate Wazza very shortly .Any truth to the Zantuck one Caveman ?

the 2 country vic boys both came through thr kdjfl. the woodend boys came to kyneton beacuse of the low standerd of the riddle district footy league
Happy New year guys ... back after a spell down the beach at Anglesea.
Correct OTM and others -- At Dower Park, Rombotis to coach, Warry to play and be assistant coach and Hamish Dahl to be an odds on cert. to re-sign with the Flat and withdraw from the Square I would say.
Strangely Rombotis altho not much older than Warry says he's only going to coach, not play. Very odd.
Both of them had a gallop with the Roy Boys in the AFL and Rombotis with Richmond and maybe one other AFL club. Not sure if Warry played with any other AFL outfit other that Fitzroy.Perhaps he did and prolly in the SANFL, too.
Warry says in the BFL he will play as a "crash and bash" midfielder and will take a turn down back. Wot's the betting they'll have some mates coming.
Hope Brooksie and his team have plenty of $$$$$$$ coming in--- they're going to need them.
Hamish Dahl has absolutely zero intentions of returning to kangaroo flat, he is extremely happy at Golden Square.

6 wins doesnt sound much but considering it was the first year Roxburgh Park had fielded a seniors team it was a great effort! They had to start a team from scratch!

Yes I have met Rombotis and in 2006 Roxburgh Park had 8 wins and 9 losses in EDFL B Grade. The standard also lifted big time in B Grade as there was plenty of new recruits which lifted the standard of the comp. I will give you an example of some players running around in EDFL B Grade.

Trouble is though is that I have never played for Romsey. So I don't know why you would even bring them up!
If Kyneton played in the RDFL in 2006 they would have struggled to beat Riddell in the granny.
I'm sure most people on here would agree with me when saying that it is unlikely that Kyneton will never be a force in the BFL over the next two decades.
The junior system is poor, there is very little work in the area to offer recruits and they have screwed over far too many businesses to get adequate sponsorship to pay for Massina's wishlist.
nicholls that is the biggest prediction of ALL TIME. 2 decades, hahahahaha. As for the businesses "they" have screwed over, can you please provide us with some examples.

somebody quoted Rombotis and Warry on the EDFL thread as being "theives".
what are peoples thoughts on coach's living so far away from their club. 20-30 minutes up or down the road is not to bad, maybe even 45, but with Rombotis and Warry still being based in Melbourne does that not make life a bit tough??

Here's a useless piece of knowledge worth considering: Eaglehawk forward Matt Gretgrix has won a premiership every second year he has played football, ever since he was a junior in the under-14s with Charlton. Could this year be the year for the Hawkers?

I tend to disagree with the standard lifting in 2006 the two extra wins would have been from Moonee Valley being relegated from A Grade to B Grade they were shocking. Craigeburn being promoted to A grade also would have hurt B Grades strength

They were very strong last year and lifted the standard of B grade. Yes some of the bottom teams werent very good but to still win 8 and lose 9 is a good effort! Feel free to go on the EDFL thread and ask if B Grade was stronger or weaker last year. I would be interested to see what they think!

The junior programs I was referring to was the KDJFL, which is of a very poor standard for the Under 11 and 13 juniors. When they graduate from that league it is a huge ask to go into the Under 15s.
As for working at numerous newspapers. I have worked at two and am currently happy at The Free Press in Kilmore.
As for my coaching of junior cricket. My theory when working with juniors, especially at Under 16 level when they are close to playing seniors, is to treat them like adults. I do not employ a 'win all-be all' attitude, but I teach the lads to play hard and fair. Some coaches do not agree with this policy.
++++
On a footy note, great to see Kangaroo Flat sign up Rombotis. Hopefully he can attract some good players and make the Flat a much more competitive side. I still pull out the old Freo v Fitzroy game on video from time to time and I still vividly remember Rombotis and Warry in the side for the Roys.

Skills and development wise they are behind many of the local junior leagues in the state. And Football Victoria and the VCFL are both aware of that and are trying to address it.

No way did the standard improve - the EDFL B grade weighted the draw to help the crap teams. Roxy Park only played 1 of the top 7 teams twice and 3 of the bottom 4 teams twice. There is 6 wins straight away.
The only win of note was beating a team that finished 7th.

Some great kids in the side. Myles Dorman will make a good wicketkeeper batsman at a top level one day. Rory Healy has plenty of batting potential. Rob Cini has ability with the bat and ball and only needs a few technique issues ironed out. Luke Malone will be a good bowler. Other players such as Aaron Andrews, Calum Furness and Matt Bowden will be good cricketers if they stick at it and trust their coaches advice :D

Don't know Davis24. Myles Dorman is a gun footballer for his age. Cannons don't pay him much respect though. I'm guessing because of his size. I'm pretty sure Rory Healy is a good footy player and he lives in Tylden so would be a chance to play at Kyneton this year.

Wallan have a couple of guns in Todd Keenan and Brandon Hooper. Rupertswood's Matt Twentyman is pretty handy. Romsey's Chris Burkett has plenty of batting ability. Elliott Massina is a good batsman (I am not a massive fan of his bowling but he takes wickets too).

I think kyneton has put alot of effort this year into selecting 3 really good coches neville massina put a alot of effort in the club behind the scenes and gets along with all the players really well and also a very good coach most of the recruits kyneton has picked up has been through his hard work. Bill Young to coach the 2s is good pick up along with his son sam and Mark Tunzi to coach the indwr 18s is nothing but good for the club alon of the younger kids know him through work or outside the club i think that kynetons 18s this year wont have to be worrying bout not getting enough players cause alot will come and most will stay due to how well they get on with mark

Spot on. Bill Young should do a good job. Kyneton's key is to keep blokes like Nick Scholes around the place. A good two's player and a bloke who will get mates to play. Don't know a lot about Mark Tunzi but if he can get a squad of 25 blokes to work with he should be ok, considering some of the talent around the town in the U18 age bracket.

Sandhurst were beaten by 130 points by Gisborne in the last round of the 06. Word just in is that they will be the big movers. Injuries last year and adding a few players will see their odds drop by round 1.
The Square have improved where as Gissy have stayed the same if not gone back a little. Dahl is a massive signing. Gissy need a tall forward to be the stand out again. Also tough to win 3 in a row.

gee mate, $50 on gissy for the flag, going out on a limb there. that would be a week's wages for you.
what are your cricket credentials by the way?? also, is Zac Boyer still playing junior cricket at Woodend?? He would have to be top of the class if he is. brilliant wrong-un and a run making machine.
For those who don't know much about Mark Tunzi - he will be a good coach of the 3rds at kyneton. Very Disciplined tough as nails back pocket player in the glory years in the 90's. Won't take any crap from the younger boys at kyneton, which is exactly what they need. The last year or 2 have been pretty ordinary, with the bare minimum (and sometimes less) it's been a case of anything goes. The Redpath boys and so on will only benefit from having him around the place.
Bill Young is an interesting one.
Nicholls i'm also actually going to agree with you on the Nick Scholes call. Blokes like him are the ones you need to keep, rather than letting slip off back to the RDFL so they can play "ones". It's tough though, when a club might throw even $50-75 a game in front of them, to want to stay play seconds at a cost (ie membership, travelling etc etc)

Anyway hopefully he is a good pick up for the Flat.
have the bloods lost their two most important players in danny obree and the wife in luke beattie, both players are match winners, as well as the losses of knight, jennings and dawson not sure if they can cover those losses.
will be interseting to see how the flat lineup and how long it takes rombotis to become a playing coach, warry has got be past his best as a player, i beleive he lined up for boort a few years ago, so obviously he enjoys getting plenty of cabbage as you would say on the money, will be interesting to see if Damien " mark jackson' Brown comes back to the club now they have a coach of the highest pedigree as rombotis managed to win 6 games as coach something brown could not achieve in two years, if they reatain brown, dahl, belz who would remind the romboid of himself at a younger age, and recruit zantuck and dont forget glenn hutchinson to return from overseas and perhaps matt dalton linking to play with his younger brother a more competive flat for season 07 lets just hope they record an upset and defeat gisborne in gisborne

It's tough though, when a club might throw even $50-75 a game in front of them, to want to stay play seconds at a cost (ie membership, travelling etc etc)
Zac Bowyer is now at senior level and I think playing at North Melbourne or another club in the premier comp. Can play!
It's a shame clubs like Gisborne and Kyneton lose quality reserves players to neighbouring senior clubs for money, I agree.
As for my cricketing credentials I am not much of a player. Captained the U14s and U16s in my junior days at Romsey and now skipper the second XI at Lancefield. As a wicketkeeper I get the job done but I'm not classy. As an opening bat its likewise. I can stick around for the first hour or so most games but there are never many runs on the board.

nicholls i'm struggling to keep up with your posts today - must be a busy news day is it??
gee mate, $50 on gissy for the flag, going out on a limb there. that would be a week's wages for you.
what are your cricket credentials by the way?? also, is Zac Boyer still playing junior cricket at Woodend?? He would have to be top of the class if he is. brilliant wrong-un and a run making machine.
For those who don't know much about Mark Tunzi - he will be a good coach of the 3rds at kyneton. Very Disciplined tough as nails back pocket player in the glory years in the 90's. Won't take any crap from the younger boys at kyneton, which is exactly what they need. The last year or 2 have been pretty ordinary, with the bare minimum (and sometimes less) it's been a case of anything goes. The Redpath boys and so on will only benefit from having him around the place.

Yeah pretty much. I have Rob Short, Ken Johnson and a couple of other senior bodies. I'll be getting a few of my senior players in Tim Collins and Greg Woodburn back for the rest of the season hopefully. I only took the captaincy to help in the development of the Under 16s.

Sounds like Kings Army was thinking of the Gisbourne FC whilst taking a swim. Are you a captain or previous captain KA ???
Not only is Cameron Hall linked to South Bendigo but he has also been linked to Sandhurst as well. I heard he was going to sign with the Bloods a few days ago but musn't have as he was said to have been discussing his playing future with the Sandhurst FC within the past day or two ...
Also Josh Dawson to stay at South Bendigo ...

As a player, I think the committee has done a terrific job for the Kangaroo Flat Footy Club. I met Marty & Rombo on Wednesday night and they were great blokes. Looks like some big inclusions this year for the Flat too! I know Leroy Stevens (Treasurer) pretty well and he seems to think these blokes aren’t costing the earth either. They just want to get blokes to the club that want to play for the club, not the money
