If you thought AJAX crowds have been bad i wouldn't come down tomorrow. The usual few hundred true Jackas will be there but we are expecting an additional 4-5 thousand. Our spirit will get the boys over the line tomorrow.
As a side point, does it really matter who wins? Isn't the main prize getting promoted?

ofcourse it matters who wins! there is 22 blokes on each side who have worked their arses off since probably early december last year to get to where they are, and at 5.00 they want a medallion around the neck!!

Congratulations for both teams in making it to the Granny. Already guaranteed promotion to 'B' league.
Should be a cracker considering St Bedes has only lost one game this, to Ajax in the earlier final by a goal, in a match that sea-sawed the whole way through.
LArge crowd will be down to support the Jackas and the Tigers, all we can hope for is a close, intense game.
Norm Smith: Lewski from the Jackas
Crowd: 2,834
Winner: Draw! Jackas in extra time by a goal.
See you all down there.

i video'd the game, whats youtubes limit? If i can share it i will, must be watched, the best Ammo's game ive ever seen. How many hangers were there? And St Bedes iron'd out about 4 Ajax players, at one point they stretchered one bloke off, and carried another one off at the same time at opposite ends of the ground!

1 point, it was always going to be decided under a goal. How Ajax let an 8 goal lead slip i'll never know but we always knew St Bedes would come back. TYhey were never going to go down without a fight.
What a highp-scoring game. 89-67 at half time and a 137-138 finish! Couldn't really have asked for more in one game in all honestly. Fights, goals, bumps and a close finish.
Best players for the match : Anstey, Beveridge, Wintle (I think that's his name), Ritterman, Rappaport, Lewski, Jankie.

Their team will be formidible in a couple of years saw the likes of Valenti and Monoghan there today, if Monoghan doesnt get drafted, he will romp B section next year by the looks of it.

I had a dream and it came true! Oh what a game. What intrigue , what drama, what a result. It must have been one of the best games ever play at Sandringham and gee they have had some beauties there over the years. And thanks to all the players and supporters from other VAFA clubs that got behind the Tigers yesterday. The support for the Tigers was fantastic!

Match Report
First Quarter
With James Tyquin (24) being sent off before the ball was even bounced and Ajax jumping to a two goal lead, it looked like the money Ajax spent on not only training at TBO but also on the men in white paid off. The Tigers rallied though and with 17 men had the scores level at 3 goals a piece midway through first qtr. The return of Tyquin to the field seemed to hamper the
Tigers though as Ajax's accurate kicking helped them to a 8 goal to 4 goal lead at the first break.
Speccie count: Ajax 1 - SBMT 2
Second Quarter
Watching the game i believed it to be all over midway through the second qtr with Ajax having more numbers at every contest as they jumped out to a 8 goal lead. An inspired performance from Corda (17) and Hayes (38) saw SBMT kick 4 goals straight to be trailing by 4 goals at half time. At this stage of the match the lack of pace of the Tigers was evident and Ajax's movement of the ball through the centre corridor was terrific. Beveridge (27) for the Tigers was playing his best game for the year and taking a large number of courageous marks on the last line of defence.
Speccie Count: Ajax 2 - SBMT 2
Third Quarter
In what was one of the greatest qtrs of seen of football this year, SBMT kicked seven goals to to 4 to trail by 5 points at the final break. Luke Terrel (70) to certainly the mark of the year and goaled from almost directly in front in a performance that inspired the tigers comeback. Hayes was again instrumental as was M Wintle (10) and Tim McColl in their attack on the footy and the footy carrier. Ajax's front runners were exposed as the Tigers attack and dedication at the footy was second to none. SBMT took the lead late in the third qtr but with Ajax kicking the final goal of the term, they seemd to have the ascendency heading in the final term.
Speccie Count: Ajax 2 - SBMT 3
Fourth Quarter
The final quarter was definately one of the most thrilling quarters ever seen by the majority of the crowd at TBO. The scoring was to and fro but it seemed over when Ajax lead by 2 goals late in the final term. But excellent goals from Collins (3) and Corda (17) saw the tigers regain the lead. Collins took another terrific mark and had the chance to seal the game for the tigers but missed from the top of the goal square. Ajax took the ball up the other end and scored and once again looked like they would be the 2006 premiers. One goal would decide though and that came from the much mullined Groves (12) as he took a dubious mark in the forward pocket. Terrel once again flew high but didn't get near the ball but the umpire saw no problem with this and Groves took the mark and kicked truly. Tigers full back Zakic (33) play a tremendous last qtr taking several mark on the last line as did Sawers (35) from the tigers who beat his much larger opponent on several occasions. The tiger played possesion footy for the last minute to eventuate winners 138 to 137.
Speccie Count: Ajax 2 - SBMT 6

I completely agree with sxcdavster it was a ripping match which i feel honoured to have been at. there were a few terrible decisions in the last 5-10 minutes which would hav deffinitely changed the result of the game.
I think in the Best players for the match you would have to include Nick Gold. I'm not the biggest Nick Gold fan but i think his performance yesterday was inspirational and he led superbly. Played a real captains game and it was a shame when he was carried off on a strecher.
Other than a few poor decions by the umpire it was an amazing game and will go down as one of the great grand finals of amateur football

SBMT's kids are unbelievably good though the ones on their list include:
Collins, Neville, Monoghan, McGettigan are all easily good enough to be playing VFL next year, 1 is a Vic Metro under 18 and the other is playing in the Victoria vs the Alies game in a few weeks. And with their strong links with Haileybury theres another dozen or so that are real guns.
I would have to agree with those posts expressing positive comments about the quality of the game at Sandy on Saturday. Both teams were a credit to the Amateurs. The one blight on the game was SBMT number 34 who, at the beginning of the game, refused to shake the hand of number 27 from Ajax who had extended his hand as gentlemen do. He then proceded to harrass number 27 with kidney punches and a right arm whack to the midrift, felling the young player. The icing on the cake was the dispicaple act of spitting on a player and for that I see him as a disgrace to his team. Congradulations to SBMT and the supporters of both teams. I am sure the Ammos cleaned up at the gate.

Sounds like a cracker! Kind of justice that the Tigers and the Jackas finished 1 pt apart from the rest of the field, as it emphasises the daylight between those two teams and the rest of the field for 2006. Congrats to the premiers, to the runners-up, and to all the teams who competed. :)

Congratulations to both sides on a magnificent game. The best team in the competition won the flag. Ajax can have no complaints. They had the game handed to them for the first quarter and a half with undisciplined play by the Tigers along with being on the better side of the umpiring. The Tiger fight back started midway thru the second quarter and in the end the team with the run and fitness won the game. Coach of the Year certainly was Luke Beveridge. Also believe that the Tigers Reserves and U19's won. Fantastic effort and a brilliant game. Again well done to both clubs.

As an old tiger went to Beach Road Oval on Saturday & witnessed the one of the best grand finals I have ever seen.
More than twenty goals kicked by half time from both teams & the Tigers looking very rattled, however Ajax could not get those couple of goals to get 9 or 10 goals up to sow the seeds of doubt in the Tigers minds.
The Tigers just kept at it all day & pulled off the comeback.
Great day for the Tigers with the 3 flags.
Congratulations to both teams on a good game.

Seeds of doubt. What do you want? The Jackers were eight goals up mid way thru the second term and kicking with the wind. Also Tigers played one man down for most of the first when kicking with the breeze and kicked against the breeze in the last quarter. I think the Tigers boys deserve all the credit. Also a bit rich calling yourself an old Tiger when you spent the past weeks bagging both them and Parkdale.

Congrats Tigers - best performed team all year so would've been an absolute travesty not to win the flag. Congrats also to Ajax on a fine season and one that almost ended with the ultimate glory. As a supporter with no connection to either team enjoyed a tremedous contest and the best game of the season, fittingly on Grand Final day. Good luck to both teams in B Grade.
Re your post lozza5 - agreed D. Kinsella a real blight on the Tigers and everyone can only hope that he gives it away as he has been a disgrace all year...

congratulations to both teams, a fanastic game, and like always, there
will be one winner and one loser.
sbmt must be commended on a fantastic comeback.
i am not a bitter ajax supporter at all but i must bring one thing
to peoples attention ( although it has already been stated)
never in my life have i seen a bigger coward than kinsella for sbmt.
he hits people behind play, tries to intimidate people ( doesnt work).
He talks back to the umpires continually.
In my opinion i don't call this as being 'tough', keeping your eye on the ball
and going hard at the ball is being tough.
A wollner, number 14, going back into the pack with 3 minutes to go
is being tough, something kinsella should learn from.
he is supposed to be in the team as an intimidator, if i was a sbmt supporter
i surely wouldnt want him on my team.
hopefully i will see alot of you poster on bigfooty on the b grade website next year

do the words Jason and Ritterman mean anything to you?
Also, Jason Seidl had an instant impact when he replaced Jared Raleigh in the ruck and he also set up a few goals from Centre Half Back when he was thrown down there.

Fantastic game. Agree with everything written. In the end unfortuantely Ajax ran out of legs and the team that maintained its run to the post was the Tigers. Must pay a compliment to the coach, Luke Beveridge. Also would add that Ajax also gave out a bit themselves. Tried to fix up Tyquin's shoulder at the start and also the punch to Nbr 3 for the Tigers head early in the first term when marking was a poor effort. It was even poorer when the umpires didn't pay a 25 for that infringement.

Totally agree. If SBMT think they should take this guy into B grade, they should think think long and hard. He is a disgrace to football and no doubt played a big part in their resurgence. That is, he was off the ground so players could get back to playing a great game of Aussie Rules and not boxing. Well done to both teams for putting on a great show (except 34, the hooligan)

'I seen it and I now believe it'.....
Never have I had heard so many people tell me from both participating clubs and non playing clubs who went to the Grand Final at Sandy on Saturday, that they have witnessed one of the 'greatest games of local football' in the last 30 years!
To the players and officials of both clubs who provided a spectacle of the ages...thank you.....and for anyone who wasn't there with the approx.4500 spectators, then do contact SBMTAFC and purchase a copy of their DVD of the game....best footy investment you'll make this year....or send me a private message and I'll help you make arrangements for such.
A Grand Final for the ages...it had everything and then some....and can I say to anyone who has made a comment about individual player(s) on field behavious or perfomance...let it go...there was plenty going on the field and just as much off the field that was probably even worse in reality (note not physical but beyond the call of 'watching your opposition')
A Classic Grand Final will have the following in no order - goals, spectacular marks, courage, physicality, domination, comebacks, pressure, reports, dubious umpiring, good umpiring, crowd banter, defeaning crowd noise, injuries.....sounds like Hawthorn v Geelong at the MCG doesn't it....but no it was SBMTAFC v Ajax at Sandy last Saturday.
Ajax in my eyes had some outstanding players in Gold (and I hope his injury which looked serious isn't ) Ritterman and Sutton and a target up forward in Rapaport and their first quarter and a half was awesome football to watch as they served it up to the Tigers. Can't believe I've seen possibly four of the best marks you could imagine to see ever in one game of football.
The momentum of the game shifted from the 20 minute mark of the second term when the tigers started to run the lines with Sawers, and Lynch in the ruck making a statement. Hayes kicked some telling goals and Tyquin started show why he is a key to the Tigers in the middle. Third quarter incredibly better the first two, the Tigers piling of the goals but the Jackas keeping them at arms reach to hold a 5 point lead at the final change and coming home with the breeze. How big were the huddles on the ground at 3/4 time!!!
When Ajax stretched their lead to 15 points at the 18 minute mark of the last term it seemed as though it just might be their flag but the Tigers refused to let go of the dream, and kicked 4 of the last 5 goals of the match from the 22 minute mark of the final term. Collins goal from 45mtrs into the breeze from the worst corner on the ground to kick one on this day, was a kick of pure class....17 years old but drilled like a 28yo playing his 140th game and then added to the drama when he took a brilliant pack mark 15 metres out only to miss the easy kick in front....Rapaport then takes a grab for Ajax up forward and nails it from 35 mtrs and their back in front by 5 points at the 30 minute mark....but the Tigers atack again and Groves takes a mark low to the ground and literallly splits the middle of the two big sticks from 20 mtrs out...still 2 minutes to play and Beveridge shows his absolute class to take two marks accross half back as the Jackas try everything to get it forward...the siren goes but it's barely audible such is the noise in the ground....has it ended....incredibly it has and the Tigers have won by a point.
Could you write a script like it...not in your wildest dreams.
So after three days of partying and living the dream of 3 Flags at Brindisi Street on a Saturday in September, I'm going to go quietly at work today and give the liver half a chance!
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSS.......

Its not the first time this has happened to a Reds team in a granny. The seniors did it in 1999 at the hands of Latrobe Uni ... 9 goals to none in last quarter to turn a hiding into a premiership.
If the Reds hadn't actually won a bunch of flags as well, people make wobble references to us :)

One of the few down sides of the day was the fact that the Ajax players and officials did not stay on the ground for the presentation, which is a clear instruction from the VAFA in writing and well known...the Tigers endured it when losing to Whitefriars at EP 2002 and perhaps in some ways it also helped them in winning this one....it is character building.
So after three days of partying and living the dream of 3 Flags at Brindisi Street on a Saturday in September, I'm going to go quietly at work today and give the liver half a chance!
YEEESSSSSSSSSSSS.......
RCT
Great work RCT. It is typical Ajax to not hang around for the presentations. They have no idea how to conduct themselves as losers or winners and wonder why everyone hates them? The scribes coach of the year blew a 50 point lead to lose a flag? Surely Bevo is the man!

RCT, your last comment about ajax not staying on the ground is incorrect,
and how dare you criticize ajax for this.
I was standing with the ajax players, who were sitting on the ground approxiamtely 10 metres behind where the presentation was taking place.
( just behind the sbmt supporters)
They stayed on the ground while each sbmt player received their medal,
and once the cup had been presented and bevereidge said his speech,
then they walked back to their change rooms.
Please check your facts before you criticize ajax on this.
In regards to overthelines comments saying they have no class...

RCT nothing to apologise for. They stayed on the ground until Bevo started speaking. He hadnt even had the chance to thank Ajax as they already had their backs to the presentation and heading to the rooms. I know its a disapointing loss but they only had to stick around for a few more minutes, instead it tarnished them even more.

Well,
what a finish to what must go down as one of the most even and entertaining seasons in Ammo History. The presence of the mighty Reds gave the competition some credibility early on and then we left the final stage to others who don't have the amount of silverware we do out at Brunswick Street.
Red has had an interesting weekend. He did travel south to Sandringham and pay the requisite $10 for entry (fair day for the coffers there boys) and was not disapointed. For once i agree with RCT (that hurts) in that the game had everything - fights, marks (one taken up the sandy social club end by the young lad wearing 70 for STBMT reminded Red of himself) goals aplenty and a 1 point result.
As for the Reds U/19's - Roy is not talking about that. How the F%^* can you be 66 points up at 3/4 time and lose the game?????????????
Well, roy now needs a rest after a long season. Fear not, he will return to keep you all amused during the season
cheers
and thanks for your support
The Red
I reckon RCT summed it up pretty damn well actually.
Must admit, viewing the game for much of the senior match up in the Sandy Social Club, I honestly thought Ajax settled very quickly, but, ran out of puff when you didn't expect it to happen.
Spent the final term in amongst the Bedes fans on Can Hill and I can honestly say - I DIDN'T HEAR THE SIREN!!!! Actually have a pic on my mobile taken from Can Hill looking towards the Social Club end and seeing a crowd 8 rows deep behind that goal. Never seen anything like it.
In the 10 years I've been involved with Amateur footy, that was the best game I've ever seen.
As for the 2's game, I can sum it up this way. Was a fair game until half-time, but, the class of the Tigers shone through, whilst the Wellers basically lost the plot.

Crowd at Sandy Saturday was massive...I reckon there was 5000+...based on a few reasons...just looking around the whole ground during the day and every area was full....the 3/4 time huddles and people having a kick on the ground.....Mrs RCT and torpettes arrived at half time and she had to park at Sandringham Railway Station and walk to the ground as she could not get any closer, and she said people were still walking in in large numbers at half time...old timers I know from Sandy reckon they have not seen a crowd like it in 20 years.
VAFA official said it was the second biggest VAFA crowd in their memory.
And here's another beauty...bloke I work with was at Moonee Valley Races (pencils for a well known ex AFL player/bookie) and he said they were getting reports of the scores and game out there from people at the races!!!

RCT. You said the Ammos recon it was the second largest crowd at a VAFA match, but do you know where and when there was a larger crowd? 1979 B grade Grand Final at EP. Closer to 6000 and the canteen had sold out of food before the game started. Oh, I forgot to mention, Ajax were playing that day too.

Lozza,
I knew the answer to your question as I was also at this match in 1979 - Ajax vs Marcellin if my memory serves me correct...first ever game of VAFA footy I saw...think 1 or 2 of the Rittermans might have been running around this day?? So I guess I lay claim to having been at both games!!
I know the Tigers did an enormous amount of publicity in the week leading up to Saturday via email, mail, sms and in shops around their home base area to drum up their supporters...Having a large Junior section of their club also helps in this respect and there was a large turnout of other local clubs - Beaumaris, Parkdale etc...which when added to the Ajax supporter numbers created a nice earner for the VAFA.
RCT
Well, I have finally got most of that sick feeling in my stomach to disappear (alas I fear it will never leave for good) and have waded through the many posts on this site to have finally decided to put finger to keyboard.
What a game! I have never seen anything like it. The 2nd best game of amateur footy I have ever seen (after the 2nd semi!) I went to the lunch before hand, knocked back 8 or ten beers, a few chicken sandwiches, some chicken drumsticks and some more beer. Almost bought the hardman at the auction but left that to his father. I was ready to take to the field myself after the speeches. Michael Ritterman spoke of his love for the jackas and his hope that he would be able to award the Michael Ritterman medal to his son Jason - touching stuff.
Out to the ground where the missus finally gave in and turned up for her first game of the season - her and hundreds of others!
What a start by the jackas. The undisciplined start by the Tigers (already extensively covered) sure helped but the jackas just seem to catch the tigers by surprise. The pace through the middle and the solid defence of Israelsohn and Gold was just fantastic. However, and maybe it's the Richmond supporter in me, I still didn't feel safe at 47 points up in the second. The halftime beer sure didn't have the greatest taste when that margin had been reduced to 28 points.
And all credit to the Tigers for their great comeback although I will forever hate them for it! I too couldn't believe how many speccies were taken. The tigers seemed to just overrun the jackas in the last even though the jackas did their best to hang on always kicking one back.
I have a few comments to make. Firstly, how much better is amateur footy than the big league at the moment?! 22.12 vs 21.11 would never happen in an AFL final. The coaches would instigate chipping and flooding after 5 minutes (maybe the jackas should have!).
And for all those who call the ajax crowd ferals - I have to admit they weren't too bad. There were the few who ripped into some of the tigers players but they were then greeted with personal abuse from the crowd which was a bit of a shame. Overall though, what a fantastic crowd on a sensational sunny day. I too was amazed by the 8 deep final quarter crowd that twisted from one ajax forward pocket around to the other.
And if the result was reversed, I think Michael Ritterman would have had great pride in presenting the medal to his son at the end of the game. That's one bloke who seems to be like the cartoon characters whose legs start pumping before the body starts moving.
For the guy who saw Rowlings there, I also saw Nathan Burke appreciating the footy standing on his own out the back.
I also can't help but feel horribly about Nick Gold. Came out before the game and, as AJAX's longest serving captain (and model footy player) announced he would be standing down as captain. To then do his knee with just a couple of minutes to go after being close to BOG... what a shame. Lets hope he can pull on the boots next year.
And now for next year where we can only hope that the boys continue to push for finals action. Lets hope that there are some big ins including Dukes and Poyas.
I will see some of you on the B-Grade thread. Thanks to most of you for making this thread just great all year. GO JACKAS IN 2007

The most amazing thing about that era was that Ajax was in E grade in 1975 and A grade by 1980. Even those of you who hate Ajax have got to be impressed with that! And how about this:
1975 E Grade Best and Fairest - M Ritterman
1976 D Grade Best and Fairest - M Ritterman
1978 C Grade Best and Fairest - M Ritterman
1979 B Grade Best and Fairest - M Ritterman
Good memory RCT. On that day Ajax had Henry (Melbourne) & Michael Ritterman. Mike Zemski (Hawthorn), Trevor Korn (Melbourne) Rick Marks (Richmond) & Mordi Bromberg (StKilda). Several others had played either VFA or VFL reserves football. I remember it being a brute of a day with the wind howling towards the scoreboard end all day and only one goal being scored at the Glenhuntly Rd end.

From where I watched the game all the Ajax fans were great. It did seem though that a lot of them had no clue about football, but were happy to be there to support their team. Which is fair enough. Back to the footy. How though did Ajax run out of legs (which they did) when their coach has an athletics background? Also thought that AJax were too worried about certain tiger players which unbalanced them the longer the game went. The Tigers kicked 15 goals to 7 from midway thru the second term to be get stronger as the game progressed.

As I said previously, losing a grand final from 50 points up is not something the coach will want to remember too often.

Fellow "C" Grade Posters,
It is with regret that I furnish my final post for the 2006 season.
I will start by saying congrats and commis to St.BMAFC and AJAX for the quality Grand Final that they provided the many supporters. As has been stated previously, one of the best games seen for many a year and one that both teams (and clubs) should be proud of.
I have enjoyed the frivolity and jocular banter that has appeared in this forum and acknowledge that there are some quality posters out there (as well as some fair dinkum floggers who you wouldn't even urinate on!! :thumbsd: )
I look forward to the "C" Grade pre-season forum where, no doubt, supporters from all clubs will be singing their aspirational praises on the 2007 season.
I am tremendously proud and humble on being selected in Brooksy's "C" Grade Forum TOTY and vow to go 'back-to-back' next year (even eclipsing the great RCT and Red Roy for a leadership role!!!!!) :p
Anyway, time to put the 'white diamonds' in storage and pull on the white flannels and enjoy the 'gentlemen's game' whilst enjoying the hot summer  and truck load of bitterley cold frothies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Yours in Ammo footy until 2007

Paul Groves, clearly BOG and also took a handy grab.
I thought the AJAX players were fairly soft in that they tried the tough man tactics and they ended up backfiring, shown by the number of pussys that left the ground when the game was there to be won
#27 Bloom fair dinkum disgrace the way he pranced around trying to be Glenn Archer but spent moretime lying on the ground trying to get cheap free kicks, reminded me of the Lonie twins him and some of his mates.
And if you try and head butt someone behind play, try and make sure your the one who doesnt leave the ground with the blood rule, that was the turning point in the last quarter. Signing out Greg Norman
Hey Josh, where were you watching the game from. Bloom was felled by that hero Kinsella behind the play at the start of the game. That was the only time he hit the deck. I don't often get on my soap box on this 'fun' thread but I'm going to try and put an end to some of the rot being thrown around of late.
Let's get one thing straight...neither team/nor club can take any high moral ground...as I said previously there was plenty going on both on and off the playing field and neither club can take ' the high ground' as a result of such.
In the cauldron of a Grand Final where the stakes are high things happen on and off the field. Clubs can not be responsible for every occurence whether it is on the playing field or in the crowd. No club(s) nor player(s) nor supporter(s) can be singled out nor should they be.
Not everyone is priviledge to all events that happen on and off the field on days like Saturday but the officialdom of the VAFA generally are aware or made aware of such, and will and did act on the day or will make club officials aware of such.
It then comes done to the wiser heads at Club level to make sensible decisions about what if anything requires action and what is deemed best left 'as a heat of the moment event' and what if anything can be sorted out by a phone call or two if needed.
So, let us all assume we all did things that normally we probably wouldn't and accept that it was part of a day that all of us won't forget for a long time....the thing to remember was the quality of the football and excitement generated of a result of such, that we were deemed lucky enough to witness.
I'm now getting down of my soapbox!

My best call (and I'm just a bloke not a god) is :
a. if either its public domain or mainstream media photography, OR
b. if the player(s) approve.
Also : only if they are not intended to derogate the players.
Finally, try not to put too many in the one post. If you have heaps, spread 'em approx 2 per post.
I will need to use my lowly discretion as to whether something is untoward, and tend to lean towards being a pretty harsh critic.

Scribe, Just read your review of the Final in the VAFA Record and it appears clearly that you had too many sherbets at the Ajax lunch. Too many glaring errors. Tyquin was not sent off before the first bounce. The incident took place after the first goal. There was never a match winning point and the scores were never level just before the end. Groves kick the goal to put the Tigers in front. The siren story is a beat up. You failed to add that the ball was on the Tigers full backline and supporters from both sides of the ground ran on when the siren went. There was absolutely no chance of an Ajax goal. Two of the last four goals before half time came from Collins off the wing although Corda and Hayes both dominated. As for the ball falling into Groves lap. I would suggest that he had the courage to keep his eyes on the ball and what a pressure kick.
Scribe, Your report was built around various inaccurate postings off......'Big Footy'.... and is really disappointing given that the Record will become a piece of history. If you wish to continue to write a column please take notes at the game. You might have half a chance of reporting accurately.

Spoke to the player that supposedly posted. Can confirm that someone out there is purporting to be him which makes sense. You shouldn't believe what you read. Particularly on this site. Get Smarter please
Two things
1. Tyquin is a very dirty player. His record shows that he is. Last three years his VAFA tribunal record shows he has been reported three times. Got off in rep game, but copped two for striking vs DLS, and then this brain freeze.
2. Report suggests AJAX player said that Tyquin did hit him and he hit him forcefully in the eye. Unfortunately didn't just say he was unsure what happened.
Great game though.

Not defending Tyquin at all. There were some postings on the site earlier that appeared to be from Tyquin and were not.
Secondly, Tyquin had just missed two matches from an ac injury which Ajax were aware of, Tyquin is not a player that goes out hitting people. He does obviously retaliate though. In this instance an Ajax player charged his injured shoulder when play had stopped with some intent. He wasn't impressed.
And yes the Ajax player did put him in at the tribunal.

Have it on pretty good authority that "Scribe" wasn't even at the game let alone the Lunch.... That info comes from someone pretty close to him!!!!!

Given the number of inaccuracies in Scribe's report of the match I'm believing Crownies2 suggestion that he was not at the game...didn't you read the various threads and I gave you a fair amount of detail particularly the last quarter in my post????
Nothing can be done to amend what is not in the Ammo record for the history books but let's hope you can learn from this Scribe...I've enjoyed your writings through the season and do know from personal experience how difficult it is to write the weekly column but such a 'match of the ages' should have been written a little more accurately.
Maybe it is just the legal eagle in you where exactness of the story isn't always the correct answer to the question???

Scribe, I must say that i have enjoyed the majority of your work, regarding match summaries etc...But I am bitterly dissapointed that you ended it with such a 'dodgy' wind up. Getting things such as when incidents happen, players and the spelling of their name, the score at different stages and just the general incorrect stuff which you wrote about, It just wasn't correct.
I found it very hard to read and found it hard to understand certain areas of the reveiw.
Bad Luck! You fell over and lost it all right at the end and when it counted...Just like AJAX did, bunch of chokers...You have something in common Scribe ;)

With writing skills like that mate, I would love to have seen what you would have come up with!
