Very clever Smash, maybe you could be hired out to all the clubs for their next function as a comedian as that was very enjoyable indeed.

Manny, yeah I agree with you we have had a number of guys miss weeks here & there due these scheduled holidays or work or school exams etc. I would have to say that this season has been alot better comapred to Ivanhoe last season as there are alot of people at Eltham missing games through rotation & no one wants to just give up their spots that easily!! 4 changes for us this week mate. See ya tommorrow!

Gazbats, I'll let Azza know although I have no idea what you're talking about but obviously he will? Azza's back in the 1's Saturday after 2 BOG's in a row, well deserved.:thumbsu:

well well well, what an awesome evening we had tonight at cobra land. the two lovely ladies sure put a good showin, not bad at all. i think it nearly lasted two hours, considering we paid for hour and a half. toys toys toys, we even had our own male stripper join in on the act (those at cobra land know who i am talking about). we had a very big turnout tonight, lots of past players and some new faces as well. looking forward to the next function to be held at cobra land.

Hey Ed Sill.... whats the deal promoting a Hawks players 50th game in the D4 section of the record? Pretty sure they're in D3.

And you tipped Bulleen to beat Richmond... boy... you're on a roll :)

Hi Bigwaz,

As a former scribe, I think you will find that the Ammo's do the milestones, nothing to do with the grade scribe. Possibly a career in journalism for you though, never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Anyway, go snakes!

Ok, my tips for Round 9 for those who care...

UHS-VU to beat Box Hill North.
Eltham way too good for the cigarette papers.
Saint Marys in a close one with South Mornington.
Bulleen will finally get their first win of the season over Richmond (I hope).
Mt Lilydale too good at home against North Brunswick.
Albert Park and Eley Park will play out the first draw of the season.
My photos on the cobra's website to get better week by week.

Best of luck to everybody this weekend. May the best team win.

Well, what can I say...
What a fantastic day for the cobras. It feels awesome to win a game of footy, but under the circumstances Bulleen has been in this season, today's victories are definitely a lot sweeter. Commiserations to Richmond, they fought gallantly, especially their senior side. Their third quarter was nothing less than sensational. To come from 5 or 6 goals down and make a game of it in the last quarter was truly heroic. Hopefully Turtle will make a full recovery soon, his first half of footy was a blinder.
Looking forward to next week away at Syndal. The guys have a little more confidence now so it should be a great game for both reserves and seniors.

Well done boys, f*&kin awesome...

Its d4 ammos mate, what do you expect. If a side has not won all year and get a win against any opposition they have every right to celebrate. Thats the thing I love about this game. It does not matter if you play AFL, a grade ammos or d4 ammos. Players at all levels work the AR$e and know how to enjoy a win. When your struggling thats when the wins are the sweetest.
I couldn't agree more.

:mad:Well,well, Spy2,obviously you have little or no knowledge of club footy and the spirit and desires formed in these clubs;

Cobras have struggled and have every right to celebrate a win.

You denigrate Richmond,I have not seen any side in D4 that I would call "woeful",struggling and striving to get better,Yes,but not woefull

D4 comp is in the gutter is it Spy2?,as an ump in D4 I take personally that sort of denigration of clubs and players that I see trying their guts out each week,Coaches and trainers and water carriers and club umps and goalies and boundries giving everything they have each week.

In the gutter my arse!!!

What an insulting, denigrating, little person you are,

Spot on Nellup. Although it hurt like hell and to be honest was a bit embarrasing to lose to the cobras (Only because of recent form) it was great to see two teams give everything. If Spy2 had been at the game he would have seen one of the better contests for the year. IMO...D4 is very healthy and will continue to improve and get more even. Anyway, if you don't like the comp dont participate.....pretty simple!

Gotta say - the two's wasn't great footy, but two teams that worked their arses off.

The ones was actually a pretty decent game of footy to watch.

The D4 comp is healthy.
The results just prove that the top 3 teams, Turtles, Sainters, and Uni are streets ahead of the rest.
Clubs such as Bulleen, Richmond, Nth Brunswick and Syndal continue to compete well and are passionately rebuilding.
Eley Park struggle with depth and player numbers all round and may be better off back in clubbies footy whilst Box Hill have dropped way off the pace and show no foreseeable signs of improvement and falling back into their losing mentality
The Target's prediction is that the Falcons will not be in the 4 for much longer with the spot to end up a tussle between South Mornington and Mt Lilydale.

Actually BHN are showing signs of improvement, they got within 4 goals of UHS in the final quarter. UHS were given a bit of a scare. It was much more evenly contested then the score may suggest. Also Kirk and Whyte for UHS were much poorer players that I expected.

If that is true about these poorer players Ruck Machine when we paste in UHS with other injuries (key player out for season with knee) and beat Box Hill by 12 goals. Box Hill worse than what has already been said?

As for what I want you to say … well how about writing it … this is a literary form not an oral one! But then again you are a genius [genuis]. Rolled again Sausage! You are well named!

As for Papa I have seen him play 4 times so far.. Each time he does something well the other 17 yell spirited acclamations his way. But when one of the others does the same ……. Silence is golden. Winning the B & F? So far number 9 of St Mary’s should be well clear – although with everyone yelling out the umps maybe conned!!! If this is all too cryptic for you ask one of the other posters to explain. As for my predictions ........ why would you want to know when you know it all 18/0 ... terriffic - NostraSausage!

Now you have our personal permission to go back to your hole for a couple of weeks & work out a few more earth shattering predictions like [W C Eagles will make the finals, Richmond will struggle to make the 8 etc]. Keep working on things that we may not know! :)

I actually watched the St Marys game on weekend as live relatively close.
St Marys were down qtr time but then turned it on. There were very impressive especially last half. Papa did play very well although im tipping caught holding ball atleast 6 times, does take them on.

St Marys had some big injuries on weekend as well.

What impact will the uneven draw have on deciding fourth spot (and perhaps the top 2)?
Which of the sides in the mix have the best/worst run? I seem to remember Mt Lilydale played the top 3 in the the first 3 rounds of the season. Eltham play St Marys, UHS-VU, Sth Morn, Mt Lilydale and Albert Park twice.

Congrats to Bulleen for a fighting effort to hold off a surging Centrals side. To be honest I thought we had it in the bag after 3 qtr time having kicked 8 goals 9 to get back within 8 points.

Bulleen took their few chances in the 4th quarter and it was enough to hold us off.

Frustrating. Frustrating. We haven't been able to win the close games on the road. That makes 3 now :(

Plenty of thought Spy1 and Ruck Machine.
That valued fourth spot is CERTAIN to be fought out between South Mornington and Mt Lilydale.
Albert Park have the toughest draw by far and Box Hill have a sick percentage and even if they blitz, at best they will miss on percentage.

No one to be concerned about. He's not that good and really only requires the 3rd or 4th best backman. Nice bloke though.

"Fish" played all his junior footy at Wyndamvale in the WRFL where he was coached by RC's current senior coach Danny Hickey.

He then came over to Old Westbourne for a couple of years in the U/19's where he snagged a few. The past two years in the seniors at OW have been a little frustrating for him with injury and consistency but he has talent to burn.

He went back to W'vale this year with no hard feelings as it was his original club and they are rebuilding but there has been a bit of internal strife there with their coach getting sacked mid year. No doubt Danny didn't want to let an opportunity pass and has coaxed him to RC's this year.

Very good forward, great hands, strong one on one. Personally though, I reckon he could become a dominant midfielder in the D grades if he became fit enough.

Wish him all the best this year.

Actually I realised it was only four, because he had two before I went on him, then he kicked one in the second, and he also got one in the last. He finished with eight, so take four away, gives you four.

That mark on the lead where you gave him a spray, he passed remember.

My tips, same as hollywood except BHN to beat richmond. Coach Hollywood have you ever kicked a 100 before in senior footy. Think you might this year along with Tadgell. Already having over 50 from 7 games is a massive effort but as all gun sharpshooters you need the supply which you are getting.

Hope there is two 100 goals kickers this year. Does anyone when the last time this occured in D4.

FatchicksNLT, No 100 before mate my best was 93 in DVFL.

Not particularly worried about 100 anyway, coaching a premiership team is the main goal to achieve this year & anything else is just a bonus really. If this weather continues you'll start to see some very low scores anyway so predicting 100's this early on maybe a bit premature??? Delivery has been very good though!!!!

I think Richmond might get up this week with the mental edge of such a big occassion down at Punt rd. No money on it though PortMan...

Suds, I'd believe you, but I'd still only put you down for 1.

It certainly seems like eley park stacked their reserves.... How else do they explain the discrepency of a reserves win versus a 200 point senior loss?

Unless UHSVU were low on numbers... Can someone explain this strange event?

IN Eley Parks defence from a few weeks back, check these out.
BHN vs Mt Lilydale -bhn ones lose by 11 goals 2nds win by 189 points.:confused:

BHN vs Nth Brunswick - bhn ones lose by 10 goals 2nds should of won but go down by 8pts (brunny 2nds undeafed at the time)

BHN vs Uni - bhn seconds come from a mile down at half time to win, ones lose by 12 goals.

and you make a issue of one week at Eley Park, this is D4 and anything can happen on any given day. even more unpredictable in the ressies.

And no, BHN dont stack their seconds, sure there is other such results that can be found as well.

cheers

funny how everyone saying BHN are down so much on last season, could it be the new clubs to D4 are better then the teams running around last season when bhn finished 4th. Take two of them out and BHN would be 5th atm having played the top half of comp first up. Time will tell over coming weeks i guess.

Have to love your sarcasm flowerpower. Box Hill have been beaten by an aggregate of around 40 goals by the top 3 sides and Mt Lilydale by plenty.
Yes the top 3 sides would be concerned?
Has Box Hill picked up anyone from last season or just droppen way off the marl while other teams have worked harder in recruiting and player development? Say this because Richmond, Mt Lilydale and South Mornington all look to be up and competitive on and off the ground with the top 3 teams clearly the better quality.

I think that they(BHN) may have expected to keep improving without working hard for it when they run out to play. They have a very good fitnees coach who got them super fit over the preseason and is now back running training on Tuesdays.
There have been some personal things, not conflict, that may have effected some. The whole club was wandering around in a fog for several weeks. They appear to be regathering themselves in recent weeks. There is a sign that the spirit is growing again. There is a lot of store being put in a new recruit who started in the 2s last week. Like all teams, at times, they were hampered by injury to key players. The captain has been playing with a dodgy ankle and last season's B&F just came back from 4 weeks out.
I know they still are very confident of making the finals. They only play one of the top 3 in the run home. All the other teams fighting for the spot play 3 and even 4 games against the top 3 in the last 9 games. It is their (BHN) percentage that is a big worry, even if they do find form.
Iam not predicting they will make it, but I still say it will only take 11 wins to get fourth spot. 10 wins and best % may even do it. If you want to see how I work this out go look at my posts from a few pages back. The run in for Mt Lilydale, BH, A.Park and Sth Morn. are all posted.
As for this week.
I'm backing the bar being open from 2pm at the game will be the big winner.
