Has anyone got some info on Syndal? Who are there better players, danger players etc.
I had a bit of a look on the VAFA website and it appears they don't have much in the way of a power forward, can anyone confirm this?
Cheers
A.Fleming has been there f/fwd after the first few games in backline however he played 2's on weekend as unavail for seniors but from what i heard was king hit by bulleen player. (know who it was but wont name names)
He has broken nose and fractured eye socket so very doubtful this weekend.

Dangerous terminology to be using those words. Do you have it on video?
If this was the case, why was there no investigation from Syndal?

I don't really want to get too involved - conflict of interest - but I don't condone king hits in any way.
I'm not really sure I'm in a position to comment on any internal suspension, but as leader around our club, I would have no problems if Syndal had raised an investigation if they honestly believed that it was a king hit.
BTW - my definition of a king hit is a punch that the player had no opportunity to see coming; not two guys standing toe-to-toe having a crack at each other.

Guys,
Not sure of all the details, but I do believe Syndal has requested the VAFA to investigate the incident. I do not believe it would be fair to make any further comment, mainly because I do not know the facts other than our player suffered some serious facial injuries as a result of an incident in the ressies on Saturday.
Let us all refrain from 'guessing' or making assumptions and let VAFA sort it out.

I am sure there two sides to that story...
OK, let's move around that tree in the road.
Wet weather predicted again for this Saturday.
Who can pick the upset that a wet day may provoke?
I'll have a crack Spy. Sharks to get back on the winners list. I see you are stuck watching wimbledon again!!:thumbsu:

Obviously not the only one cj.
Don't ya just love watching rain fall on covers. Twice the fun tonight. You could watch it rain at Wimbledon, then turn over and watch it rain at Edgebaston as well.:o

Well according to Foxtel's weather channel, Saturday's forecast is 13 degrees with showers. Today will be 12 degrees with showers and Friday will be 13 degrees with a bit of sunshine but mainly showers.
And that is my three day weather forecast.
My tips for Round 11:
Brunswick to not beat Bulleen.
UHS-VU too good for Richmond.
Upset of the round, South Mornington with their home ground advantage and plus the fact they live closer to Antarctica than most of us will be too good for Eltham.
Mount Lilydale over Eley Park.
After being behind the bottom side in Bulleen for most of the game last week, I cannot see how the cigarette papers will over come a RAMPANT Box Hill North. Box Hill North for me.
Last but not least, Saint Marys will be too good away from home against Albert Park.
May the best team be victorious, may you all play fair and NO king hitting...

I think you're onto something there... I'll tip Sth Mornington as well. The turtles haven't been in great form of late, and its one heck of a trip down there from eltham.
The long trip didn't seen to stop Mt Lilydale from winning down there last week.

True! But I'll still back the tigers.
Cant wait to play them at home in those crappy, itchy green and purple away jumpers..

Bhn has had an alternative strip for a year or so now, white with the blue pitch fork (as seen in the Japan video). Players purchased their own and as it was a alternative strip, they were able to get them in great quality @$40 each. You probably guessed they weren't supplied by Hugh Lyon.
Now just a matter of pulling them out when they have a jumper clash. Shouldn't be too long, I see the VAFA has listed all jumper clashes. Now who do the Demon's clash with?.............
....... Just the one team evidently.........

Surely you're not allowed to wear a jumper that wasn't provided by Hugh Lyon in a VAFA game. Surely. They'd be great for training though... Our preseason training singlets aren't much good for the winter! We might let the boys order training jumpers next season. White/yellow like the tigers training strip. $40 per is a good price? What do HL charge? $60?

Probably could've made some easy coin on this but check out the fixyure for Cub 18 section 3. Im particular this round. lol.
VAFA probably would not officially approve of bhn using those jumpers on a regular basis. But in a rare one off situation, they would probably turn a blind eye.
BHN use them for training, to play against Tokyo Goannas in Japan (they are all red with white V) and spectators have purchased them to wear on match days.

After playing Bulleen's two's the week before, i couldn't imagine one of thier players really king hitting anyone...good bunch of blokes...but then anything can happen in the heat of the game. Hopefully the player hit recovers quick.

Quick update on Syndal injured player - requires surgery, nose shattered and sinuses damaged, could also be eye socket damaged.
D4 team of the year - must pump up my guys, Cisco and Kieran have been good players each week, in a comp where there are so many good midfielders my two will probably not get a mention by most, but respected certainly by this coach
Good Luck all tomorrow

Yeah, Kieran Conrau (No3), has been O/S for the past 4 weeks but returned straight off the plane and played last week - was again in our best players.
On a jumper clash issue a couple of areas I have noticed this year:
1. St Mary's jumper and the clash with water carriers tops - maybe we should be allowed to have an alternate colour for water carriers when playing St Mary's or only allow them on the ground during extended stoppages (e.g after goal is kicked). This will be difficult as you never have enough of them.
2 Bulleen jumper and umpires - umpires should wear alternate strip when umpiring Bulleen games - easy to mistake the men in white with the players in white
Maybe I'm the only one to notice......getting old.
Manny

The Vafa as usual havent posted scores again. Does any know the results of matches today for both seniors and reserves. Know that BHN had a good win and St Marys fought out a tough contest against Albert Park and got over the line by 30 odd points.
Feedback appreciated

1 point last week and 2 points this week not the best week down at the cobras but atleast we are showing a but now playing good footy just cant get over the line in the last couple of weeks, it hurts
Four out of six...
Two points is a heart breaking loss for the Cobras.
Lets see if they can bounce back next week against South Mornington at home.

Elgar Road siren should be fixed.
How come I was the only one that could hear it?
We need to have a chat about WESTHAM UNITED...

On a wet day, Holly, it must be pleasing to answer those critics who doubted the Turtles ability in wet conditions.
Interested to know how the grounds are holding up. Pre season there was a lot of predictions, that if we got consistent rain, many grounds would turn to sloppy mud heaps.
Elgar West (Sharks home away from home) is very patchy and starting to mud up in a couple of places, but mostly still sandy. Elgar East has better grass and was just slippery on the weekend.
Played at North Brunswick yesterday, the goal areas and the centre square are quagmires. The rest of the ground is OK. Gotta mention how good their foccacia's are... (www.bulleencobras.asn.au)

Must have been pretty darn cold down at mornington on saturday CH?
I had to run the boundary for both games at UHSVU... couldn't feel my hands afterwards :)
Citation oval at Sth Mornington,Grass out 10 mtrs on grandstand wing, grass out 25 mtrs on far wing, the rest heavy to mud, they had some bad luck early in season with council seeding at just the wrong time for weather so grass didn't have a chance to get established, hard slogging game in constant rain for 4 quarters,Sth Mornington still a young side but look out next year after they have the experience of this one under their belt.

For those VAFA clubs that think they are struggling, check out the little paper this morning,Warnambool "Eagles" won last weekend,it was their first win after 56 straight losses, could they remember the song?:)

I heard there was a problem with Coaching staff.
The 'Blakester' evidently showed up the Senior Coach during cricket season. More runs and more wickets. Coach has nose out of joint and has put the fixers on to keep him from shining. I only heard that might be the case though.

Waz - at least for this year, let it go mate..... we need every bit of help we can get!
Seriously, in 200 games I never kicked it to the umpire or an opponent inadvertantly... It was always just a $hit disposal that sent it that way....

They are a very tight and hard at it unit. I think they are a very balanced club, both seniors and ressies and now they have added the discipline its made a huge difference to their reserve grade players who are now playing great team footy. Good on em!

Agree totally Lakey - discipline from nth brunny ressies on saturday was the best of any team I've seen this year. (And probably for a while before that...)
Good work to their coaches and committee.....

Regarding the jumper clashes, I though Eley Park vs Mt Lilydale was quite hard to tell apart at various times, especially if the ball was in a pack
Yeah agreed!
I found it a bit of a challenge out there.
My Seniors tips for Round 12:
I think North Brunswick will be too good for Box Hill North.
I am not even going to bother picking a winner out of Eltham and Eley Park, you know who it will be.
Match of the Round. Saint Marys too strong at home against University High School-Victoria University.
Bulleen WILL win their second game of the season against South Mornington.
I am going for the home ground advantage for this one, Richmond over the cigarette papers.
Mount Lilydale to strong for Albert Park.
My Reserves tips for Round 12:
North Brunswick will be way too strong for Box Hill North.
Definitely Eltham over Eley Park.
Match of the Round, Saint Marys v University High School-Victoria University. Saint Marys for me.
I think Bulleen will do their thing over South Mornington. Bold, yes. Optimistic, yes. Probable, maybe not, but hey, would you tip against your own club?
I think the cigarette papers will be do the job over Richmond.
It will be worth the drive for Albert Park, they are my pick for their game against Mount Lilydale.
I know it's only Monday, but good luck for the coming weekend, may the best team win and the not so best team drink lots of alcohol.

BHN Reserves only went down by 11 points last time to Nth Brunny at Allard Park, it may be closer than you think.

Any word on where D4 finals will be held this year?
Pity it isnt a top 5 this year as 4th,5th, 6th will all be close.
Tribunal will be interesting tonight with the case in the ressies game the other week up.

Syndal player was not at tribunal tonight as I believe he is in hospital getting fixed up. Bulleen player received 4 weeks, as far as Syndal is concerned case closed and lets move on.
Bigwaz - whats your ground like?

why are so many people picking St Marys? Clearly Uni High is due to beat the saints at the "postage stamp" they have no ruck, few talls and I believe they will be one to two mid fielders short...
Go boys!

Good luck, but after playing you guys last week we think you might be in for a towel up... unless you had a lot of outs that week?

Round 12 tips.
BHN, Eltham, St Marys, SouthM, Tich, AlbertP.
It was a very enjoyable bus ride back from Mornington thanks T.W, we stopped off at a pub for dinner as a group then headed back to the rooms. No stories to tell but lots of fun had by all the boys.:thumbsu:
