The otehr tall option for us seems to be Mitch Clarke, who has meningococcal disease at this very moment.
Seems Dowler is on crutches and Clarke is in Hospital. Very interesting.
Anyone have any inside godd who we may be looking at/ interested in?

Hopefully we get another Tassie boy to replace Gilmour eh Jezza! Lets hope he is more Benny Gale than Barry Brooks as a ruckman.

I was of the understanding we are not going to use our 4th pick?
Hopfully stock up on rookies.
We may still use it, it depends on who's left when it comes to our selection and if theres anyone in the PSD we think we can get.
Could even pass and still draft a kid in the PSD if we want.
As for Matt Burgan's selections
Dowler is the one I want to get, hope that we get him
Douglas I can understand with our need for a small defender, but would probably rather someone like Mills
Stevens - God I f'ing hope not
Graham - Doubt it, we have our ruck stocks set for a while with Simmo, Knobel & Patto

Drum over Dowler please.
We need key backmen over forwards.
From Burgos Draft,
Pick up P. Bower at 24, a steal, he should go a fair way higher. I think he had him at 29.

Dont need a HBF. Dowler>>>>>Drum
I would be happy with Dowler, Douglas but not Stevens and I would rather James Wall than Angus Graham

I would take Mitch Clarke at 8 after a review of tapes and measurements and fitness results. The only down side to Mitch is his attitude, that can be tuned at an AFL club with Terry Wallace as coach and Greg Miller around. I know Greg is in love with what Mitch offers, he will be the one we take if he's around at pick 8. He moves like a young Richo but has the same mental difficiencies as a young Richo. I would take him for sure.
Pick 24 it gets very difficult in a sense its so even that we dont know who will be around, but on a positive the player we get at 24 could be as good as the player Hawthorn take at 6 for instance. Its just that even. I go for Tom Riechbieth here a) Because of his fitness results, could play stints on ball, down back or up forward, huge engine, and b) most important his mental strenght, an amazing kid, leadership written all over him, tough, courage unquestionable and great desire, the kid could be great.
Pick 40 again very difficult to judge who will be around here, ive always liked Matt Seal, think he has that certain spunk to his game that could be better suited to a higher league rather than the WAFL. Got great confidence in himself and can find the ball and kick a goal. A lot to work with, great upside.
Pick 67 We will pass, and have either Michael Stevens, Kasey Green or Damien Cupido on radar over the next few weeks to see who we will snap up at pick 5 in the Pre Season Draft.
Pick 8. Mitch Clarke
Pick 24. Tom Riechbieth
Pick 40. Matt Seal
I would love that outcome. Personal opinion.
Drum would be a great addition, but he's not a key backman, he's a flanker who will only ever take the 3rd forward. Down back we have Schulz and Hall with plenty of time ahead and Thursfield coming through, we also have Bowden there as a rebounding flanker. Right now we don't have a CHF and looking a couple of years ahead, we don't have a Richo replacement. To me it seems logical that a tall forward is our number one priority, and I'd be stoked if we ended up with a couple. I'd love to see us use all four picks on kids and would be stoked with:
8: Dowler
24: Douglas
40: Seal
67: M. West
Agreed jezza, if we scored those 4 I'd be doing backflips

Would love this bloke with our 2nd pick.
Footydraft has Ryder coming to us at #8 :thumbsu:
Ryder > Dowler. I wouldn't mind Nathan Jones at 8 either if he got to there.

But is Ryder a CHF or a ruckman? Is he too similar to Pattison?

Ryder is a Ruckman but is only 195cm tall and dosent have the leap to cover the lack of height, and he had never been played in a KPP role. I dont think he could take enough marks, contested or uncontested to be a CHF
