Are any of the players worth a punt with our 4th pick?
-Marc Bullen (looked OK - limited opportunities at the Dons)
-Tom Davidson (good size player - is he starting to overcome injuries?)
-Stephen Gilham (good size player - how could a promising junior go downhill so fast - maybe just lack of opportunities at Port?)
-Ben Haynes (not sure what value he will add - we have enough medium size players?)
-Leigh Rsywyk (I remember him being mentioned at trade week - not sure what position he plays?)
THoughts?

Said it before and will say it again...for mine...Mr R Hilton is by far the pick of the PSD lot for us....but why not get another kid.

Hilton has signed with Euroa but I'm sure he has a clause allowing him to return to the AFL if drafted.

for our purposes next year and possibly the year after, the best fit for us would be a smart, classy, sometimes mongrel, in Montgomery. But then i hink there has to be some bad blood between TW and hismself, or can anyone suggest it was an amicable parting of the ways, when TW was coaching bullies? If not, then he is the quality player in the PSD, no doubt about it. ;)

Yeah kind of agree. I think he is a very similar type of player actually, just played in better sides than Rory. Both very good overhead and Montgomery plays tall but IMHO Rory is a tad more versatile, particualrly defensively.

yeah but Rory is prone to brain fades, Montgomery knows what to do and when. Supremely more balanced player, with infintely better quality of not only delivery but selection of who and where the delivery must go. ;)

As much as i don`t mind him as a player , and the fact that he has been stiffer than a honeymoons phallis , it`s onward and upward for mine
-Marc Bullen (looked OK - limited opportunities at the Dons)
Flattered by the Dons complete lack of inside midfielders. Other than Jason Johnson they had no one else to play in the square. That meant that Bullen got a lot of cheap gametime Tim Fleming style. Bullen is rubbish.
-Tom Davidson (good size player - is he starting to overcome injuries?)
Can't take a chance on a guy with his injury history until he first proves he can put a season together.
-Stephen Gilham (good size player - how could a promising junior go downhill so fast - maybe just lack of opportunities at Port?)
Built like David Bourke on a diet. Good player, smart player and good leader, but can't play with his body.
-Ben Haynes (not sure what value he will add - we have enough medium size players?)
If they think he is a BP then maybe. If they think that Brown won't start the season or want Krakouer in the BP then maybe. If Brown, Krakouer, Pettifer and Tambling are in the mix for the forward line then Haynes is a nonsense choice. Cam Thurley is a better bet anyway.
-Leigh Rsywyk (I remember him being mentioned at trade week - not sure what position he plays?)
Pure wingman. We'll stick with Raines. Prefer Steve Greene in any case who can actually get his hands on the pill.
Of the delisted guys ...
I always rated Luke Peel as a modern HBF. Apparantly he didn't take to the footy life at all well and let himself down.
Brayden Shaw is deceptively slow and not the best kick but has talent and could do OK in a second chance away from his dad's club. Certainly has at least as much going for him as Chris Hyde.
John Baird might be handy for someone. Plug and play for 2 years at CHB. No matchwinner but could be adequate. We'll stick with Hall and Schulz though.
Tom Logan is another to consider. Goes hard, great attitude, and would be an honest tagger type.
Weaver your comments haven't done anything to change my opinion that none are worthwhile selections ahead of taking another kid. Our success rate with rejects has been poor, be nice to see us start learning from our mistakes of the past.
Pass on Montgomery, we went for Graham for a one year fix and he filled a gap that we didn't really have anyone else available for. The positions Montgomery will play can be done by a number of the younger players we have, time to throw them in and see which ones are actually capable.

Oh I agree. I want another young'un. Was just entering into a discussion in the vain hope of relieving the boredom. I am so bored I have actually done a reasonable week's work this week. Its getting pitiful!

Been running amok down there
Bullen IMO because we need a tagger. If not him then one of Baird/Logan.

What's the story with Michael Stevens? It seems he is being linked to Richmond in a few places. Even the Burgatron had him coming to us. Is there any fire to the smoke?

Is that the guy from the Kangaroos?
