Nathan Jones, a hard nut and ball magnet (38 touches in TAC Cup GF) is officially a Demon!
Him, Brock, Colin and Beamer are going to make up a very intimidating midfield in future years.

Also selected were Simon Buckley, Clint Bartram and Heath Neville.

I like him as a player but his height is a bit of a concern

He is no smaller than say Ben Cousins or Daniel Kerr.

buckley seems interesting. a 197cm midfielder with a time of 2.9sec for 20m. if he was at draft camp he wouldve been 3rd. seems similar to bruce.. can probably place key position but will end up in the midfield.

Excellent. CC has always been a great recruiting manager.
That choker/soft image will be gone next year methinks.

yer good player, hes not 197, thats a typo, he is about 189. may i ask who your brother is???
With Neitz, Miller, McLean, Sylvia, Moloney and now Pickett and Jones at the club, Melbourne will have the type of physical presence that's been lacking for decades.
Jones looks to be a great pick-up. The only thing that worries me is that he doesn't address our major shortcoming - lack of a good, young, strong, leading full forward. Someone like Cleve Hughes would have been my choice. Poor old Neitz will have to play till he's fifty at this rate.

Keep in mind that Newton and Dunn are coming through - So the leading forward position is being patiently taught.
And if Smith can go uninjured, you never know. If anything i think we need a young ruck to develop.

Jones sounds the goods, not too sure on the others but if CAC is happy with, thats good enough for me, hes one of the best in the business.

You may be right about Newton and Dunn - I haven't seen enough of them to tell. I've well and truly given up on Smith though.
I agree with you about the ruck. Johnson's showing promise, but I doubt Jamar is up to standard. That's why Luke McEntee was my second choice in the draft. He wasn't picked up today so I'm hoping we may get him in the rookie draft.

This is what I want to see in the first ball up of our first wizard cup game:
White rucking down to McLean, Sylvia and Jones with Beamer running in off a wing and either getting the ball or crunching the opposition.
I say White instead of Johnson or Jamar cos gettin first use of the ball will be a big help for our young midfielders.
i think i nearly creamed my pants when i haerd we got Jones, soooooo happy

Great picks from Craig, liking the sound of Jones, Sylvia, Mclean and Moloney in the same midfield.
I think it's likely we'll get a ruck in the rookie draft and maybe one or two talls as well, Todd Grima hopefully.

It was too bad Warnock was picked up, he would have been a handy selection.
Need a couple of talls i agree in the rookie draft.

not really imo. i doubt we will find any ruckman in the rookie draft better dan Jamar or PJ or a tall defender better den Rivers, Carroll or Fergeson.
Dunn and Bate should play a few games next year, especially Bate. they are our KP forward pospects.
I'd take the punt on Davey's brother for sure, dont see why not.
also, dont forget Warnock who is still on our rookie list, he should be looking for promotion

Read somewhere we cant participate in the PSD.
Is Brayden Shaw available to be rookie-listed?

We cant participate in the PSD as we have no spots left on our list, so unless we delist someone (unlikely to happen) we will just have to pick up a couple of rookies.
Im not too keen on Brayden Shaw either. Ive heard reports of him being uninterested at training. Not really a good thing to hear about a bloke who is probably on his last chance at AFL.

yep he has been disintrested at training i think he has been told he wont be picked up. one bloke that is very intrested is billy morrison the reports that we are getting at demonland is that he is training really well and wants a seconed chance. so has ed clark aswell built like a tank and is also training the house down.
