What do you guys think of Fantasia's selections?
I am overall very happy with what we came out with:
Pick 16 - Richard Douglas
Pick 17 - Darren Pfeiffer
Pick 32 - Bernie Vince
Pick 48 - Alan Obst
3 SA lads, one victorian.
Probably 2 of the 3 best midfielders in the draft in Douglas and Pfeiffer. Vince was a real smokey, is ready to play AFL footy and was attracting a lot of interest from Victorian clubs especially St Kilda. And Obst has great football ability and has always wanted to play for Adelaide.
The Crows musn't have rated Hughes or Bode as most phantom drafts had us taking these two...very very happy with Pfeiffer though :D

it's always nice when a club gets local talent. Would've been great if they got Hurn as well. IMO, his talents will be wasted at West Coast.

Don't get me wrong, he was the best available talent for sure. But how will he ever break into your midfield?
Alan Obst is a pure spoiling FB who can't kick to save himself but will be groomed to replace Bassett.
Richard Douglas could well be the most solid and consistant player in the draft. Very footy smart. Pretty similar to a Tyson Edwards in that he will spend his entire career being called underrated.
Pfeiffer suits the Crows system perfectly. They love their tall wingmen who can flood back into defence and then push forward to kick goals. Let you get rid of Reilly and Torney going forward.
Weaver know much about Vince?
Think Pfeiffer is a good pick at 17? Many rated him top 10.
Don't get me wrong, he was the best available talent for sure. But how will he ever break into your midfield?
He is better suited to a HBF anyways.
Cant help but think Adelaide wud be disappointed they cudnt get one of Hurn or Varcoe along with Pfeiffer.

We weren't going to pick up Varcoe with onw of our picks in the first round because we had some question marks about his foot injury.
We would have been stoked to get Hurn but the club has already come out and said they would be very surprised if he slipped that far.
Hurn would have been an ace pick up for us but WC picked him up instead. Once WC picked up Hurn, I was quietly confident that Pfeiffer would slip to us. WC rate Pfeiffer VERY highly. They rated him as a top 10 pick. Obviously, they rated Hurn higher and hence, picked him up instead.

Strange selections by Geelong and West Coast, both have strong midfields and both need key position players.
only had 2 selections to go before pfeiffer got essendon damn bloody fergus watts.

We got McKinley the leading goal scorer in the TAC cup, what more do you bloody want.

Only time will tell.
No one here can say who will be the best player to come out of this draft and who will be the top 5 players. This draft will have a lot of busts in the first round and a lot of gems picked up late in the daft and via rookie list.

Considering that neither of them are true midfielders at this stage, and may find their best AFL positions are back pocket and HBF, this is a pretty biased claim.

Bernie Vince - great finals series from him for the Eags.
Another WWT player on the Crows list, to add to Biglands, Burton, Shirley, McGregor, Skipworth, Bock, Hentschel.

Vince is a bit of a gun...kicked 4 goals and about 30 possesions in one of the finals last year...good bloke too
