View Full Version : Whats wrong with Swallow?
From the best midfielder in the draft to pick 43, something must have turned clubs off, what was it
1. Little room for improvement?
2. Kicking?
3. Overlooked last year....
Which is it?

Can't kick.
Yeh his kicking last year was beyond horrendous, some of the worst ive seen, he has improved but his kicking is still horrible.

Clubs are scared of blokes that can't kick now. With the quick counter-attacking way footy is played nowadays, a poor kick can be extremely damaging.
For a bloke to be looked over all last year, and then for 40 odd picks this year....
From the best midfielder in the draft to pick 43, something must have turned clubs off, what was it
1. Inside midfielders aren't high on clubs shopping lists.
2. He was never rated the best midfielder in the draft, Murphy was always higher and guys like Jones and Douglas were always close.
3. Pick 43 isn't a huge slide. He still is amongst the best 5-6 players in his position. If you are looking at the genuine inside midfielders then Murphy, Hurn (?), Higgins, Jones, Douglas, Ibbotson (?) would be the only ones to go ahead of him.
4. It only takes one mini-shuffle of a position (for example putting Jones above Swallow) to drop a player 10 positions in the drafft.
