This is a very good draft for what DIDN'T happen.

The quality of players still in the mix - McEntee, Bode, Elliot, Grima, Rischbieth, etc - means that we will have the preseason to look over a number of players for our preseason pick, and a very interesting mix for the rookie choices. Most sides aren't going to want to bring someone interstate for a rookie slot. Most of the undrafted boys are top age, so they can be rookied (one of the reason the magpies chose Minson and the Centrals boy, who were both bottom age)>

And we'll be one of only a few sides picking in the preseason draft. I like how this unfolded.

Still can't work out what we'll pick up in the PSD, where we don't have 1st pick, that we couldn't get with pick 64 where we had 1st pick of whoever was left.

Is there someone who wasn't in the main draft that we want? Or do we just want more time to think about a certain player (and risk losing them to another club)

I wonder why we passed on our last pick>? when there were quite a few exciting lads. Are we committed to a recyled player? we Should've grabbed Grima. Unlikely to pick him up in the pre season... because we could've used pick 64 on him but we didn't. Rookie draft he'll be gone in a flash.

You certainly know your footy mate. I'm with you in thinking Port did not want a repeat of the Mat Pav case where they leave a bottom-aged potentially good player in one draft and they get picked top 10 in the following season's draft coz then everyone would have realised they are that good. Hence, drafting Giles & Hugh.

While I think you guys have done really well considering your strategic early picks, I'm also glad we are picking ahead of you in the pre-season and rookie drafts, lol

Hush now - if I've got him fooled, I want to bask in it for as long as possible. ;)

I think when a club is getting into players 25 - 45 on their list of draft fancies, it is hard to split them. Now, they have time to test these boys next to one another in camp and gather more information.

Even though we are stocked well with ruckman, I still wouldn't mind rookie listing McEntee if he is still avalable. He can run 20 meters in under 3 second which is pretty impressive for a ruckman. He is pretty good in the actual ruckwork and can take a good grab. According to fotydraft, he also has good second and 3rd efforts.

There is still some supposedly good quality youngsters out there. I do like Elliott. I have seen him play once or twice and he is a nuggety type centerman who is a bit of a clearence specialist. The only query over him is that he is a bit injury prone and hasn't played much footy outside of Sacred Heart.

There is still some decent quality there to pick up a player that could prove to be a bit of a bargain for us.

We still can pick up another decent midfield prospect.

Stiffy I told you this draft was quite deep. What did you think of the list I produced in this thread. Would there be any you would add or delete.

Is there any College boys from SHC etc that have been missed?

I hear some good things about Jessie Aish from Pulteney for example?

Good suggestion Blighty.

I had forgotten about him.
