All i know is that there is only 1 bloke in the AFL taller than him. And hes only like 19  His pace off the mark is pretty good too apparently, top 12% or something at draft camp...

I've seen him play a couple of times and I wanted him at the Eagles. Maybe slightly over the odds but a good pickup. Tall lanky guy who moves well, gets a fair bit of the ball too. Will need time but he'll make it.

Have seen him play 3 or 4 times.
He has skills, particularly for a guy his size at such a young age (he is IMO quite a lot more athletic than Sandilands - particulalry at a similar age).
From memory he either started footy late (or missed a few years of footy in his teens) and certainly he is well worth a risk, particularly for a team with so many early picks.
Cheers.
A risky pickup, someone who will take a long time to develop. Payed way over the odds but with ur last pick at 22 there wasnt much choice.

He was taken at 18. Like all ruckmen he will take a while to develop but in such an even draft I disagree that it was 'way over the odds'. Good ruck prospects always go fairly early in the draft.

Thanks for the info Coasting, How would you compare him to the ruckman of last years draft, say a Wood or Meeson or Maric?

who knows Dean Cox was placed on a rookie list, could prove a masterstroke, but hawthorn certainly took 2 risks in muston and bailey

Buckenara stated they saw Bailey as the most advanced ruckman in the crop. Seems a lot of other clubs were interested too.

geelong woulda picked him at 31 and they are saying that collingwood were all over him also at 21 and 23.
so people say way over the odds is a little misguided;)

Theres no point us recruiting a 205cm monster with the mobility of King Kong , how was his junior record would anyone know ? ...

I wouldn't mind a 205cm King Kong.
As for his junior record, if you go to here...
http://www.wafl.com.au/?s=results
and search through the west perth colts games and you'll get an idea of how he played.

Gee WA knows how to breed their ruckman, there has been plenty of quality ruckman going around from WA.

I think we would of taken him at 26 too. Hawthorn obviously got the vibes that plenty of other clubs were interested, so they had to pounce when they did.

Seems Big Bails was the Skipper of the WP Colts. Good sign.

Yeah that WAFL site had individual statistics for each game. I'm not sure why they took that down.
