A couple of weeks ago had a discussion with one of the selectors with the AFC (I work in fainance and am looking for his business). As you would expect the discussion moved to players and my thoughts on a couple of them - he was interested to knwo my thoughts but before I had said who they were he asked me whether I was going to talk about Burton and Perrie. In a word I said no - reasons I gave were Burton will go to every contest whilst Perrie stats aren't that bad when compared to his peers. To keep the story short, I said no one of the players that get on my nerves was Skippy due to Skippy not getting the ball on quickly enough and wanting to give it off at every opportunity (and has a trait of going in a big circle like the Queen Mary). Well, his reply was that AFC were aware of these faults in his game and were still working on this but have told him to take on the defenders and go for it and not look for another option to pass to.

He then went on to explain how they are trying to understand the minds of the Generation X & Y. A no of AFC staff have been provided with a brief on how to deal with Generation X & Y.

Well, I thought it was interesting - the obvious being that the AFC knows how both Burton and Perrie are continually in the firing line and what they are trying to instill into certain players.

Will try and use my professional relationship to get further intelligence during the footy season (and yes I won the business over).
