Has anyone heard this version before?

Song on Lions website (http://www.lions.com.au/images/downloads/lions_club_song_high.mp3)

The saxophone fanfare opening is a bit... surprising! Does this version replace the version we've heard at the Gabba all year?

Don't mind it. Probably 95% identical to the 'old' version, but with a fraction more clapalongicality about it.

BoM, the Lions website had the version we hear at the games on the website originally. About 12 or more months ago now they changed it to this 'different' one.

Danni, yes, I thought the original song was up there before.

I dunno, it's recognisably the same song, but the rearrangement gives the harmonies more priority and the fanfare's a bit... Well, I just dunno.

It's a bit like when they started fiddling with the theme to "Dr Who", it was never quite the same show!

Actually, the first time I listened to it I thought for the first three seconds that it had been replaced with Geelong's song! :D

Ah - that minimalist version with just the keyboard baseline and the drum kit. A classic.

It's better than the original version which I felt was rather flat in parts. Look forward to hearing it a few times next year.

I'm sure you will, Roylion, the ABC seems to show "The Bill" four or five times per week.

Why is everyone looking at me like that?
