I have also heard that damian Slater is High on the list for the Nth Albury coaching job. He is pretty high up at C.U.B, apparently he is going to take demotion from his job to concentrate on coaching next year. I was talking to a bloke the other day who used to play with him for a club near Bendigo. He was saying Slater turned the club around from cellar dwellars to winning three premierships in a row he got decent coin to do it apprently $1000 a game
Im tipping if the club had enough coin to pay him $1000 a game then anyone could have turned a club around with that size budget!

Colbinabbin was the place he turned around, another plus for Slater is he is still good mates with Gary Lyon from his playing days at Melbourne apparently he often rings Gary for advice.

Is it true he also had some experience at AFL reserves level with the Western Bulldogs or Footscray as they were known?

Sounds like a very reliable source there Lionel, do you know the name of the club he played with? From what i have seen up here in the papers he has done his chances of gaining this coaching position no harm. Bagged a lazy 7 last week and 5 or 6 the week before. Not bad for an onballer could be a handy asset.

7 goals last week against a weak opposition an still cant get a game with wodonga senior side after they have lost 5 on the trot. Wouldnt think he could captain coach, his pace is his biggest worry.

Manny Edmunds to coach, Ive also heard Jeremy Masterson will be his assistant an Mark Dicketts is also a big chance to join the pair. Glen Page an Darren Elliot will stay on as a players if these players are signed. Dale Carrol would also play after having they year off.

Yarrawonga will finish on top and earn the spell.
Myrtleford will play either Albury or Lavington (my tip Lavington) in the qualifying final at Wangaratta Rovers' home ground on Sat.
Albury or Lavington will play Wodonga in the elimination final most probably at Birallee Park, Wodonga.

North Albury have dropped a line to 4 time AFL Premiership player Martin Pike about his plans for next year. There would be a lot of people at North excited about the thought of Pike lining up in hoppers colors, but at this stage it seems a fair way off.

Also Wodonga Raiders are currently speaking to a number of ex AFL players about the possibility of joining them next year, one being a former player Chris Lamb.

Pretty simple question little H, How have yarra performed in finals of recent years? Wasn't changing the sublect, just asking a question, and if you can't answer it maybe someone else can.

Finals is a different ball game, all you have to do is make the finals and from there anything can happen. And guess what? This is a different year and a new finals series presents itself and myrtleford is not the team to beet this year, yarra is.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is there some rule that gives direct qualification to this years grand final.

I agree yarra and myrt are the 2 best teams of the home and away season. That doesn't mean they'll square off in the big 1

the reason i enjoy footy finals is the unpredictability.
Anthing could happen in the next month of footy. What has already happened counts for very little come finals time, it just helps us find the 5 teams who play the year out.

If the rule mentioned above does exist, lets just play the GF between yarra and myrt next weekend . . . it'll save us all bothering with those other teams in the comp and we can all get on the juice a bit earlier!

Be a shame to see these 2 top teams prepare for the GF now . . . and not make it!

Piltz,Hodgson(as a coach),Bourke.
A.Carey an B.Murray are excellent players, both would be in the top 5 in the league but wouldn't get the money there getting at Myrt anywhere else. Except maybe Yarra!

Finals are upon us and there is a tinge of spring in the air. Myrt V Albury should be a cracker. Myrt's brigade of saints fans will be out in full force and albury have a pretty good followong also, so should be a big crowd.

Judging on their last game a couple of weeks ago, it will be a physical contest. Any Predictions?

I think Myrtleford will bouce back this week like they have done after every loss this season. Especially if they get there Captain Brad Murray back. They could be at full strength and would like to redeem themselves after the disappointing loss to Wodonga.

It will be a ripper of a match an I think Albury will go into this match with the attitude of nothing to lose! Myrtleford will be the ones under pressure as a lot is expected of them after last years failure! An there form of recent weeks has been patchy but I believe Hodgy will have the boys primed and switched on for this one.

No i dont play anywhere but i cant stand ****heads like you who get on a forum like this and assume you know everthing about every player and club in the league!Who gives a toss how much any player from any club gets!Every club goes through phases and in a couple of years you will probably still be on here making stupid statements about who ever is successful at that time!Good luck to Myrtleford and Yarra lets hope these two teams play off in the grand final because for whatever reason they are currently the two top teams in the comp!

Like i said i could not care less what any club pays their players! It obviously bothers you(may be a result of your lack of talent and therefore no $$$$ for you) but to Myrtlefords credit the majority of their team are locals!
