I noticed in the fixtures on the CA site that the CA Cup games are to be covered with live scores, but the Pura Cup games seemingly are not. What's the ********ing deal?!

They should be, the CA site has been upgraded.

Will be interesting to see how Buchanan and Blizzard go, both failing on debut in the ING Cup match.

Personally, I want to see both of them given an opportunity again.

Well Mcdonald should be seeing them pretty well after a double hundred in district cricket on the weekend.

Thought this re design was the end of the problems associated with the website, but not to be unfortunately.

From www.bushrangers.com.au

South Australia 6-306 (stumps Day 1)

Opting to bowl first, the Vics took three pre-lunch wickets before pace prospect Peter Siddle bowled Nathan Adcock padding up immediately afterwards.

Cameron Borgas and Ken Skewes combined in a century stand for the fifth wicket as the wicket flattened right out, Borgas playing some highly impressive cricket in his 150 before falling to McKay and the second new ball.

Borgas is one of three SA players from the Pura/ING Cup squads still in Melbourne playing in the fixture. Also involved are fast bowlers Garry Putland and Mark Cleary.

The early Victorian wicket-takers were Clinton McKay, first-change Cameron Huckett and allrounder Tim Welsford.

Siddle and McKay each finished with two wickets.

Cam Borgas is a quality batsman. Great to see him make a big one.

How far off do you think Clint Mckay is from getting a game with the main side. He bowls fairly sharp and hits the ball very hard. Could be a handy no.8 or 9 in the Vics line up?

His bowling was all over the place pretty lucky to get 2 wickets he got.

I haven't seen him play, but my Crusaders contacts tell me that he is a little inconsistant with his bowling although his batting is very good.

On players for the future, do any of you think Simon Dart will get a chance soon ?

What about Clinton Peake, he could get into the side on his batting alone at the moment ?

Both Darty and Peake are out of sorts at the moment. Both don't have age on their side. Look at Quiney, he had an average year, last year, and yet is still ahead of Darty who scored over a 1000.

Peake isn't, very consistant with the bat at the moment.

Fantastic to see Cam knock up a ton-and-a-half. And Kenny too with a 50-odd.

Benny Cameron also back in form, had a real up and down year but its starting to improve again. Started with 2 score in the 190's to kick off the season, then went badly downhill, and scored a ton for TTG last week, and now followed it up with 68.

And FFS, can someone tell me how Nathan Adcock is captain?

He has been captain of University for a number of seasons and played a reasonable number of 1st class matches. Who would you prefer as captain?

i dunno, preferably someone who can make a run.

In previous years, he has carved up teams in the A Grade, but got to state level and struggled. Now he cant make a run for University yet he still gets picked for Second XI

SA 2nd XI won by 64 runs (http://ls.cricket.com.au/HomeFullScorecarddb3d41bb-4829-4794-9f21-e9e84a383018.html)

SA 2nd XI 6/306(dec) and 1/70(dec)
Vic 2nd XI 0/0(dec) and 312 all out

So, in the last couple of weeks that makes... three wins for SA over Victoria in three different competitions. All in Melbourne to boot.

That's not uncommon in matches affected by rain. (Days two and three were washed out.)

Any runs made by Victoria only puts SA further away from a target they'd be content to set. Much easier to just forfeit the innings and maximise the chance of a result.

Are they still allowed to forfeit innings in the Pura Cup, or do they have to complete 1 over of the innings and declare?

I believe they still can but it something that very rarely happens.
