Good article on Luke Matias who began in the BARFL, was this year vice captain of the British team playing in the International Cup and is now training with Port Melbourne.

Yeah, I heard about this as well.
Similar thing is happening with a few of the Japanese boys, doing the pre season at Essendon and possibly will be playing in the annual Sydney v Essendon clash at North Sydney Oval.

Luke is a bit of a different case to the Japanese guys in that he has done this off his own back. The Japanese guys were invited down by Kevin Sheehan for the AIS camp, and will train with the Bombers but are not really trying out to play with them (although they do hope someone will pay them to play and stay on). Luke is trying to get onto the Port team and doing the full preseason with them.

Oh ok, he has decide to come down and train himself without the support of the AIS or AFL.
Might bump into him this year, when Werribee play Port Melbourne.

Yeah, really hope he makes it as well after reading about both him and the Japanese guys in the papers over recent weeks.
