If we had the #1 pick in the 2005 National Draft, would we have taken Hurn with it?
It was a general concensus that he would be taken in the top 5, top 10 at worst, yet he slipped to #13.
Would we have gone for him at #1?
Interesting to note that if there were no priority picks prior to the first round, we would have had picks #13 and #14 (assuming St. Kilda would have given 14 up for Fergus, which I think they would have) and we could have drafted both Hurn and Varcoe.
Thoughts?

i saw a picture of fanta and neil craig talking to marc murphy.
read into it what you like, but either they dont rate him and thort he would slip to 16 ...or they highly rated him and wanted a chat.
id say marc murphy still tho.
No, I think if we had #1, we would have taken Murphy. He was regarded as the best available by just about everyone, in fact I cant recall anyone suggesting anyone else was better.
I do think if we had #2 we would have taken Hurn though. Personally I would have anyway.
I was spewing when he went at #13. We could have forced the Saints to trade up, and ended up with a pick high enough to get him. However prior to draft day, I though it would take a top 5 pick to snare him and the Saints wouldnt/couldnt have come to that party. Its such a shame all these elite talents keep going interstate. Hurn, Cooney, Waters, Butler, Rivers, Monfries, so on and so forth. The list is getting pretty bloody long.

I doubt it. West Coast still probably would have taken him with their pick at #10.

It annoys the hell out of me as well.
Not to mention that a certain B.Gibbs may soon be added to that list. :(

I reckon we would have gone with Hurn.

You'd want to add Pavlich to that list too....
