Absolute gun and he will prove it this summer. He has tremendous potential, he's only 24 and has already displayed that he is a player with immense talent.

Good luck on a great summer Jacques! :thumbsu:

Is a pretty good talent, dont know if he'll have that good a summer though.

Have a feeling we'll crush them.

Backfoot play has a massive technical fault, otherwise, very good player.

1. He's only played two innings against Bangladesh,

2. I though they were your favourite team though, so why are you bagging them?

They are my favourite team, but their bowling is not yet world class.
Didn't he make about 300 in 2 digs though?

Guess that makes Bell a champ in your books for his 162* and 68* against Bangaldesh  CONSISTENCY.

Rudolph is a good talent but he hasn't overly impressed me to be honest. I would expect McGrath to be all over him.

AB DE VILLIERS

Now, HE IS a Champ :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

No, because Bell is a dud, he can't play anyone other than Bangladesh ;)

And we're talking about Rudolph, not de Villiers. Go start your own thread if you wish, but don't ruin this one intended to praise the incredibly talented man that is Rudolph.

See the signature champ. (Or is that a wind up  )

Good player , but unless he has dramatically improved since I have seen him last I would expect him to struggle here a little .
THe Aussies will test out the technique flaws in his batting .

I like him, and hope he does well (as long as we still crush them) not sure he is a superstar or anythin close to that at this stage of his career, but if he can make some runs agaisnt us, then he is well on his way.

Solid player, nothing special. He tends to grind out his innings.

What are these techincal flaws everyone is going on about?

What are these techincal flaws everyone is going on about?
Going on when i last saw him bat ( 1-2 years ago ) , he really struggled against the short of a length ball pitching middle off and going across because when he plays back he moves back but not across in line with the ball . And like most left handers he can struggle with the ball coming back in .

Because of this back foot technique he will struggle against someone like Mcgrath .

But as I said haven't seen him in a while so he may have ironed out this problem .

You'll change your tune by the end of the summer ;)

Is there anything wrong with that?

Yeah, he has taken a while to mature.

This series is his opportunity to reall establish himself as true international class batsman, came out here last time and was part of the selection fraca involving Justin Ontong.

Absolutely spot on, his backfoot play consist of going back but not across, so when he plays his back foot shots, he's side on, which is totally not ideal, and with dodgey backfoot play like that, he better be careful on the bouncy pitches in Aus, especially at the WACA

Front foot play is very very very good though, especially through the covers.

The 'champ' makes 59* for South Africa.

Drives very square early with not alot of foot work and tends to give chances through third slip/gully area.Watch Lee and Mcgrath target him in this area.
