Id be interested to know your worst day of amateur football Mine was a day last year when it was about 3 degrees. We played out at Whitefriars, which is about 4 hours from home! There was noone there and I had 4 goals kikced on me in a 1/4. Bagged by the coach and sat on the bench getting hypotherimia. Then my car wouldnt start. My worst day.

Back in year 9, a mate of mine had just been promoted to the 9A's team to play against a team far, far away.

When changing he discovered that he had packed 2 right boots and couldn't play that day. He was dropped to the 9B's the following week.

Poor Kid.

Given the make up of that team he's lucky he came away with 2 boots.

I had a mate who played a whole game with his shorts on backwards. This was back in the day when they had a zipper and cross over button. We still haven't let him forget about it!

A bloke at Coburg told me that during the 2003 season, the coach ordered all of the players to wear long stops, one of the blokes came back from the taping to find his long stop boots missing, presumed stolen, and the bloke changing next to him had the exact same boots on that were missing from his bag.
An argumentt broke out and the poor victim had to play in his grass cats and spent most of the day on the bench.
The alleged offender still won't admit the crime to this day.

Poor form.

Last year in a game I broke my ankle 15 seconds before the final siren.

Last years B section reserve grand final. Watching our boys get rolled by De La Salle. It was also the best day, we rolled them in the main game.

De La Salle v Old Scotch, many moons ago.
Both sides have to win to make the four.
You know those days when nothing goes right?
Scrine2’s day doesn’t start well, huge bust up with girlfriend, dog has to be put down, car catches fire on the way to game.
Huge build up to game, McCarthur Allen gives one of those speeches which have you frothing at the mouth.

Some 30 mins before the game Ben Mannix rocks up after spending the last 3 months playing in the WAFL, living with Paul Peos.
Looking as though he is still half asleep, Mannix kicks five in the first term and De La skip away to a seven goal lead.

But then things go wrong. Mannix gets injured, one of our all time greats Andrew Mackintosh breaks his leg, the sound of which is heard in Pascoe Vale. Scribe2 is reported for charging (and gets four weeks) after sending some little Scotsman halfway to Edinburgh.

Scotch chip away at our lead courtesy of the worst umpiring ever seen in the VAFA. The two umps are Peter Gersch and Martin Jackson. I will never forget their names.

De La up by 5 points, 30 seconds to go.

Enter a man named Rohan “Plugger” Aujard, who has barely been sighted for about three years. With the ball deep in Scotch’s forward line, Aujard sprints down with his ridiculous, chest pumped out running style and, in the worst decision ever made in a football match, umpire Jackson awards a free kick for De La “having two ruckmen”.(??????)
Chaos ensues, as De La supporters run on the field to remonstrate. Aujard slots the goal as siren sounds. Umpires almost murdered.
A dark day for football.

Not familiar with Rohan Aujard... But if he's anything like the rest of his family the umps were probably petrified of him!

Playing in the most talented team by far in the league and missing a grand final berth by two straight kicks. That's as low as you can get for me personally. Knowing you played in the most talented team in the entire league and not even making the grand final damages me more then finishing bottom would.
