True depth is what we've been lacking for eons at our club. In fact for most of my life I would never have dared use the words 'solid roster depth ' in conjunction with the word Bulldogs in a sentence... unless I was was using it in the context of pointing out our lack of it!!

However things seem to be finally changing for the better in this regard. Unlike the Bulldog era's of of the 70-80's and possibly the 90's with McGuinness leaving, we've managed to keep most of our required players over ( Brown & Penny being the exceptions) the past 5-6 years.

Eade now has at his disposal a nice smattering of both age and experience levels throughout his squad, and we seem to have some solid mid to long terms plans in play to solidify long known weakness in our KPP stocks.
On top of this we have secured contract wise the best part of our expected future talent stocks for the short to mid term. On top of this there are "as yet to debut players" on our list. All of which means Eade will have even further opportunity over the next 2 seasons to potentially add to this depth.

Eade has said recently he could at this point in time realistically forecast there being up to 4 debutants next year.
The pool of potential debutants to choose from: Williams, Higgins, Tiller,Wells, McCormack, Addison, West and I guess Baird is a potential Bulldog debutant too, anyone wanna surmise as to who could be the "up to 4" Eade is alluding to?
Possibly: Williams, McCormack, Higgins & Baird?

Either way, this effectively means (If Eade's prediction pans out) that up to 4other as yet "un-capped" players can expect to be honing their skills for at least another season with Werribee before realistically having a shot at seeing AFL regular season action.

Who then do people think will be the guys we will leave "simmer on the stove" so to speak for 2006 with Werribee, and of these who do you think realistically is most likely a chance at being ready for a shot at claiming a Bulldog guernsey in 2007?

our small man depth is pretty good. Im still not sure we have anyone who can make a BP or FP their speciality, but thats quibling.

while we have a good depth of possible talls, our number of proven quality talls is only 3 (5 if you want to count minson and street I suppose, but I wouldnt say that as yet)

True, I should've stated that as opposed to meaning our list is at it's optimum desired strength and depth in all areas, I am trying to say that our playing stocks in general are more healthier when held up to the light against squads over our last 30 years. I think it is fair to say that the bulk of the guys we've got not counting expected retirements, will form the basis of Eade's projected squad in 3-4 year time. And that rather than wholesale changes being made, Eade will seek to complement the current bulk of the team with selected acquisitions that will further bolster our roster depth.

Why not Robbins as FP? In the later stages when he was there he proved he can play that postition (including the real mark of the year.)

Yeah although in a way I spose we do have KP depth as in the amount of possible KP players such as Baird, Davidson, Williams, Walsh etc...
We don't have a proven forward apart from Darcy and IMO he needs to be backed up by a quality CHF. Hopefully some one can step up.
